Thank you for visiting!
Love, love the use of teabags on the front cover. It is so true that the history of our family is very important and shouldn't be ignored nor forgotten. Life changes tremendously from one generation to the next and the often busy lives of people means that many important stories are not recorded and our ancestors become strangers to us. It is sad that so many people have to go through DNA analysis and searches in the hope of finding information on family history. Thank you for what you are doing and for reminding us of the importance of recording for future generations.
Oh, thank you so much! It is an important thing to know your history, in my opinion. My ancestors have really come alive for me as I've heard these stories and researched their lives. My dad was the youngest of 12 so we barely knew any grandparents. My stories are precious to me and open my eyes to their lives they lived and the hardships they endured!
This is such an awesome journal cover. I love how the raggedy edges look. Your family photo that makes up the inside of the book is really cool!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! They were humble Appalachian, WV people. We lucked out that grandmas oldest sister married a picture taker! So we have lots of old photos. Thanks for watching!
This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your techniques! I just love it!
Thank you, thank you! Those tea bags really go a long ways in my book to create age in things. Good luck on your project! I'm sure it'll be wonderful!
This is GREAT!! I do research for people to know who their ancestors were. I’ve been doing genealogy for several years, and this is just going to bring my research to life! Thank you so much! 😊
Oh that is wonderful, what you do! I love genealogy. I need to work more of it into my junk journaling world. Thank you for watching!!
The tea bag edges look great. I'll have to watch this video a couple of more times before I'll feel comfortable attempting to make the book part though. Your video was very informative! Thanks, Rhoda.
I have been working to try to be more clear in my instructions and to give more technical information. It's hard to do! Juggling the making and entertaining parts! He he. Maybe use the dimensions I give in the description to cut your pieces and score them as a first step...then follow along? For when you want to try it...that may make it seem less mind boggling...which it even seemed to me at points! Ha ha. Thank you so much for watching !!
Very nifty idea to use a trim of teabags! Now I'll have to start drinking black tea (or dye a lot of papers 😂). My teabags are all from green tea and can't match the beautiful colour yours have. Your instructions are clear, don't worry 😉. That arrangement of squares and rectangles almost looks like a quilt or counterpane. Love it so much!
Yes, I do want to make this. I'm going to ask my sisters for some photos. A decade or so ago they had the photos from my parents digitised. That should make it easier to duplicate them.
It isn't a tradition in my family to name children after relatives. I named my firstborn after my parents though, but my children didn't name theirs after any relative. It's a pity, I would have liked it if they had done that with at least one child.
Oh, that's wonderful that you had those photos saved like that. They can tell stories themselves. You may be able to put some brown ink water in a cup to get a darker bag? I know what you mean about looking like a patch quilt. Maybe that came to mind at some point. He he. I can't wait to see how yours turns out!!
My great grandad Fred was something...always wanting to have first sons named after him and pouting when they weren't! Thanks for watching!
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing how it’s made.
Thank you so much for watching!! Hope you get a chance to make one, or even a greeting card like the cover with a story inside would make a great gift!
@@rhodaburks4970 I would like to make one with you but the next few weeks are going to be busy with moving my Mom into assisted living. Then comes the task of cleaning out her rental house and deciding what to do with years of accumulated stuff. I am saving your videos so I can revisit them later. Again TFS.
I forgot to add that I have a genealogy paper pad called Our Family Tree from Hobby Lobby. I’m not sure if they still have it but if you have a hobby lobby near you it might be worth checking out. It’s a Paper studio pad.
@@carolbeeding4270 Thank you! I'll check that out. Going to my friends in Greenville, SC this week and she wants to shop there! I love vintage papers.
@@carolbeeding4270 Oh...you will be busy! Hope the transition will be smooth for you both. These videos will always be there so no rush. I'm just appreciative you all are watching my videos!

Thank you very much for watching. I hope it gives your research a new angle. I really enjoy my genealogy...finding mysteries and solving riddles!
