This was my first cell phone ever, and got it as a present for my 12th birthday. I'm so sad that I got it wet because it's such a good phone. I love it as much as the iPhone I have now. I miss it :(
my first phone was nokia 6630 i was going to go for this phone but i got the 6630 as it could run .sis apps and games down side was it took half sized mmc cards for its removable memory
My 1st smartphone of that era. When I bought it people were be like WHAT!! This phone plays music wow. 2GB Expandable memory. 1.3 mp camera. Now no one will buy it.So many memories. :')
i was in first year college when i got this. i had the coolest phone in the class. everyone has flip phones which was the trend where im from. so my 5300 was unique among my class since it's sliding phone. not to mention the cool design, color, and it's special feature as an mp3 phone.
Come straight here after watching iphone 16 unveiled because how much i missed the old phones and remembered how i always excited for next phone update or release back then.
hey, about the speaker. I had the same problem, you have to pull it right apart and get to the speaker connections. if u give them a quick clean with sand paper it works like new
i luv this phone!!!! i ordered one the other week but every time i go to collect it i get told to come back later and it will be here. grrrrrrrrr!!!! I WANT IT KNOW
i used this phone for 2.5 years after it died a year ago, i really enjoyed using it, though it did cause me some problems like its screen cracked, but it had such a nice keypad,i miss it :[ it's a great phone for youngsters
1st,Display myFaves(menu>settings>myFaves>selectShow for display). Then, select one of fave5 by pressing ok.Then press options and select edit profile.Go down to icon and press options & select change.Go down to gallery & select and then select memory crd.Select images folder.Pick a photo.Press options to move/rescale crop.Use square navi button to move/rescale the crop cutout.Press crop to cut out the photo for the icon.& then press save, for that profile. repeat steps for others.Hope that helps
Great phone can record upto 3 hr 20 min video depending on the space of your card if u put 2 gb card the record time would double up. Really nice idea of music player + can listen to songs from bluetooth headset which is simply great.
I've had mine for I guess a half year now, Its been thrown dropped, spilled upon, dust and dirt riddled, and my dog got a hold of it. It stopped playing music for a week but all it took was taking it apart and putting it back together so far. I hate it but it plays music like a little boombox louder than my computer speakers even so I'm fine with how crappy it is so long as I gots my music.
I have been using mine for 6 years. It has fallen in a lake two times and one time on a gravel road- survived all without a scratch. Sadly the navigation keys have stopped working one by one only reacently. Time to get a new phone...T.T
I have this phone and it's really nice. The only problem I've ever had with it is a nice half-inch crack that came a few days after purchase, and the fact my Nokia 5300 only came with a 64mb MicroSD card.
@TheViolenceMan ...i miss my nokia 5300 ..best phone ever, my first phone..i had it for 2 and half years took like 200 pics with it ..always looked like a cool white mp3 player ..truely was an incredible fun. now i have Htc wildfire s ..but its nothing compared to the fun i had with nokia 5300.
it's free with a 2 year contract. i have it. it's nice, just keep it clean and safe. it doesnt take well to drops. i droped it and when i turned it back on i lost my applications folder. like the calc, calender, ect. but it has themes you can get off the internet and alot of cool stuff.
WHen you hold the phone front view the right side seems to be loose and kinda flimsy and i havent dropped it yet. I have this phone and im not sure if im the only one that has this problem. Overall this phone is great, the best phone I have owned so far.
I've had the 5300 for 2 yrs and it's good but not great. I like the picture editor and the fact that you can record long videos, though playback quality is not that great. Updating my music library is sometimes a pain cuz it freezes my phone a couple times and 2 of the songs I put had glitches up when played. Texting is good, though it takes a bit for the blinker-thing to let you type another letter on the same key. When I backspace, I occasionally hit exit. The smileys are funny. Internet's ok.
Great presentation. Never had the phone, had the 8310, 6230 and 3250, which was also an mp3 player, but this was very very attractive. New phones, despite being impressively multifunctional, lack the exciting design this past generation on phones, especially Nokia phones, had.
This phone is a good phone for music i have dropped in many times as you do and it has worked fine apart from the speaker......to make it work again you just have to hit it on a wall or somethings hard
I've got this phone. The music features are pretty nice, it's very loud. I think that the phone isn't so easily broking.. I dropped my phone many times. I have even fallen with a bike and the screen got a crack to the right corner all the way from up to down. And guess what, the phone still works perfectly. ;)
i have this phone. I have dropped it and it acted up for a few days but it still works. It seems like ppl can't hear me that well with this phone but I still use it for back up since I invested into another phone. Nokia 5300 battery does not last long though. It lasts 3hrs talking and less than that if u listen to music and use the camera. The battery life was really the only downfall.
Why would you complain about it not coming with a 3.5mm jack? 2.5 is the standard for phones and this is a phone. How else would you use a phone headset unless this has bluetooth? If you had a 3.5mm jack you would need an adapter anyways to use a phone headset. At least they include an adapter unlike pretty much any other phone that plays music.
Dude, I know this video is old but I still have one of those but the screen is white so I can´t see anything... can you please tell me ALL the options of the music menu? that would be helpful:)
It was my 4th phone. I had it back in 2009 until 2012 before I got my first android. When I had that phone I hope I can get android phone and now when I've had android I want to have nokia 5300 again. I miss everything about it so bad....
-the camera is too sensitive to light and the quality messes up in fluorescent lights. navigating through your phone will often lead you up to the same place with the same list of folders no matter where you go [i.e. music videos pictures] instead of automatically taking you there which can get annoying. -other than the the phones awesome when it comes to music, design, comfort and quality.
THIS IS A DECENT PHONE. I got the sidekick slide today and im sending it back! this phone is much better side kick dont even come with alarm clock or calander top look as! the nokia has a nice sound quality! Its no iphone but its a good phone!
ahhh this is my old fonee. memmoriess... anyways it was good for me && i pretty much liked it. the only thing i didnt like was that it was so thickk. the camera wasnt all that good eaither but overall its an okay fone. it also had greatt* sound with the music player.
This was my first cell phone ever, and got it as a present for my 12th birthday. I'm so sad that I got it wet because it's such a good phone. I love it as much as the iPhone I have now. I miss it :(

i was in first year college when i got this. i had the coolest phone in the class. everyone has flip phones which was the trend where im from. so my 5300 was unique among my class since it's sliding phone. not to mention the cool design, color, and it's special feature as an mp3 phone.

My first java phone. I can still remember playing java games and play my favourite songs
Great phone can record upto 3 hr 20 min video depending on the space of your card if u put 2 gb card the record time would double up. Really nice idea of music player + can listen to songs from bluetooth headset which is simply great.
Good old days.
I had one of these, the speakers were super loud, I loved it!
0:35 oohhhh i pushed that button accidentally in middle of the class SOOOO many times! haha
I've had mine for I guess a half year now, Its been thrown dropped, spilled upon, dust and dirt riddled, and my dog got a hold of it. @mycalaxx its preety good for an old phone like that , ive had it for 2 years and its still working .
I just got this phone any many nice accessories for $75. I'm very happy. It links up perfectly with Linux with hardly any setup, too.
on that year, wass a cool phone...and the music playare is so awesome
I heard this phone is good, but people say the screen scratches easily so u have to handly it carefully if you want it to last.
I have been using mine for 6 years. It has fallen in a lake two times and one time on a gravel road- survived all without a scratch. Sadly the navigation keys have stopped working one by one only reacently. Time to get a new phone...T.T

After 5 years, still working!
Meantime I had something like Lg Cookie and it died after year and a half...
WHen you hold the phone front view the right side seems to be loose and kinda flimsy and i havent dropped it yet. I have this phone and im not sure if im the only one that has this problem. Overall this phone is great, the best phone I have owned so far.

Some people say that this phone breaks easily, well my brother's phone fell 3 time's and it still working pretty good.

its okay... but its important that you take pics and vids in good light for your results to be worthwhile. Usually natural light is the best
