I saw The Best Years Of Our Lives for the first time. I fell in Love with Teresa Wright. She melted my heart. That last seen, the way she looked so glamourous and beautiful. Dana Andrews, in my opinion is the luckiest actor in Hollywood history. He got to kiss her at the end of the movie. I've seen Ms. Wright in Pride of The Yankees. I loved her there too. But the wholesome woman she played in The Best Years Of Our Lives was everything a woman should be. The Movie might have been about three men returning from the war. For me Teresa Wright stole the Movie. Thank You for the Tribute to this Greatly under rated, under appreciated Actress.
Teresa Wright steals any movie she’s in for me. I just couldn’t take my eyes off her when I first saw her in Shadow of a doubt. Now I’ve seen all of those. Will always remember some of her lines. “Is it time to lose our sense of humor?” “Tangle foot!!” “But we’re alive, we’re human beings!” “Would you like me to help you up the steps?”
@@acdragonrider You need to see her last movie appearance - "The Rainmaker." She's in just a handful of scenes but she steals every one! And add some of these quotes to your list - "Cut, Cut, Cut..." "Not bad for a yard boy..." And one scene that she doesn't even say a word just steals it - in the kitchen as Rudy walks in and she glowingly looks at him and smirks...lol!
She had the intelligence to not let anyone , especially Hollywood change and bully her .She had the confidence in her natural abilities to not be afraid and lead an example for other women
Just watched Mrs. Miniver for the first time, the other night on TCM...Was completely captivated by her performance. Her energy seemed to radiate out from the screen.... A truly wonderful and compelling actress...
Under the radar as one of the prettiest and All-American actresses to ever grace the screen. A true beauty and her smile could melt the Antarctic. Thank you for the warm tribute to a Hollywood gem that'll never be forgotten.
Im so glad I found this tribute to my favorite actress. I fell in love with her in Pride of the Yankees, wanted to live in Santa Rosa after seeing her in Shadow of a Doubt (and I do now), cried again when she shockingly died in Mrs Miniver and again bawled like a baby at the end of The Best Years of Our Lives when she showed such love and compasion for Dana Andrews. She was the ultimate girl next door. I fall in love with her every time I see her on film. I wish I couldve met her.
Couldn't agree more rob miller...'Pride of the Yankees' and especially 'The Best Years of Our Lives' brings tears to my eyes with her stunningly beautiful performance. Every facial nuance(and that loving smile),she could portray wonderfully and appealingly.
she was very classy lady , i read she put clauses in her contract to never be filmed in a tight bathing suit unless she was in water, or filmed in tight shorts or filmed in a sexist way whatsoever
Wow what a beautiful tribute! Teresa Wright is the quintessential beautiful wholesome girl next door with a smile that captures your heart forever. I first saw Ms Wright in Mrs Miniver and for me Teresa's charming character stole the movie, well over and above the stilted and fake Greer Garson. She was so genuine and beautiful and captivating with her precious smile and twinkling eyes and vulnerable yet strong persona. I loved the romance between her and Vin. Thank you so much for posting this.
I LOVE Miss Wrigth. She has that kind of natural beauty that no makeup can provide. Her eyes, her smile..were captivating, and if I have to mention some of my fav scenes: in THE BEST YEARS::when, at the end, she looks Dana Andrews with such love in her face, also when she awake Mr Andrews from a nightmare,in MRS MINIVER..the scene where she asks Garson ,water, being wonded in the floor. Also in the car, when they saw the planes. In each one of her films she gave, us, class, beauty..no less.carlos
@@tiffsaver Also for her third nomination she held the record for youngest actor to have a third nomination from 1943-2014 till Jennifer Lawrence took over.
I'm very moved first by the tribute and by all the comments of those who, like myself, saw something and someone very special in Ms. Wright. I was very saddened when I heard of her passing...
She was *really good* in "Shadow of a Doubt" and "The Best Years of Our Lives" (my favorite Hollywood movie). However, those were the only movies I've seen her in--except for a small part in "Somewhere in Time," starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, from the early 1980's.
Teresa Wright is wonderful in Shadow of a Doubt, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Actress, Mrs. Miniver, The Steel Trap, and Sergeant York. I did not realize until a few years ago that she did a cameo appearance in the 1980 film Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Even in a role as an elderly lady, she was superb.
Wonderful actress and lovely lady. Love all of her work- especially the Best Years of Our Lives and Shadow of A Doubt- where as Charlie, I always love it when she says- "Go away and leave us alone>" That line ALWAYS gets me when she says that. A fitting tribute to a marvelous artist.
Here's some interesting trivia for those who remember her for playing Eleanor Gehrig in "Pride of the Yankees." The real Eleanor Gehrig was born March 6, 1904 and died the day she turned 80, March 6, 1984. Twenty-one years later, March 6, 2005, Teresa Wright passed away. To those of you who've commented on her appearance back then, all I can say is an old cliche. They don't make them like that any more.
Teresa found her "Niche" in films by playing 'The Woman Behind the Man"! In the "Lou Gehrig Story" where she could finally break down as he was called on the Field for his tribute! And she collapsed to her knees! That's the kind of Woman you want to go thru life with!
What an incredible talent! This lady never seemed like she was acting! I often wondered how she was off screen! Did she have a dark side🤷🏻♂️! She seemed so perfect in every way!
Let's face it: she should have been nominated for Shadow of a Doubt and The Best Years of Our Lives. The early-to-mid 1940, for Teresa Wright, was probably one of the greatest runs any actress ever had in Hollywood.
lovely and likeable actress...she was definitely not the bad girl femme fatale type ! often wish I had been around in the 40's to see these actors on the big screen when the films first came out
Was she also a pinupgirl/sex symbol in her time? If so, was it to the same degree as the blond bombshells of Hollywood? (Jean Harlow, Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe)
She was a great actress...."The Best Years of Our Lives" is a film masterpiece. Rest in peace.
WOW ............. the amazing Teresa Wright ................... I Luv her so much ................thanks for this tribute ........265 Like ...

Wonderful actress! Natural talent and beauty! Not one actress today could light a candle to her! Thank you for the video.
THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES was filled with great performances, but Teresa Wright was the heart & soul of that film.

Lovely lady, outstanding actress. I truly adore Teresa Wright.
Such a beautiful actress! Loved her in Shadow of a Doubt!
Dear God what a beautiful woman! She won me over in “The Best Years of Our Lives”. Cannot watch that movie with dry eyes!
The most beautiful woman who ever lived and ever will bar none.

Gracias por este tributo. Many thanks!
Beautiful tribute. Loved her portrayal as the adoring niece of a psychopathic uncle in Hitch's "Shadow of a Doubt."

she was so good and so indescribably appealing that I dare not try
bellisima actriz del viejo Hollywood,mi preferida ,estan angelical.....rip Teresa...wonderful...
She steals every scene she's in with quiet soft dignity. That was her quality. Just a tilt of her head and a raised eyebrow and all eyes were on her.
The All-American Girl. RIP, Teresa Wright.
lovely actress, i remember her with pleasure.
A lovely actress
Billy Wilder called THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES, “the best directed film I've ever seen in my life.”
Her acting is good in the movie "The Men" and she is stunningly beautiful!

The movie Somewhere in Time sent me here.

Terrific actress. Her performance in "The Best Years Of Our Lives" was extraordinary. Thanks for the video. But may I suggest lighter music?
Love the tribute but....that choice of music!!!!!
I HAD A CRUSH ON HER. Whats the name of that Beautiful music ?
Sweet. Her best line was to Joseph Cotten in _Shadow of a Doubt:_ "Get out."
The name of the music soundtrack is: "Dies mercurii i martius" by Hans Zimmer
I was named for her.
ESPLENDIDA ACTRIZ
