- This is the official lyric video for our song “Purple Tiger,” taken from our 2023 album “Living In A Haze.”
Writing this song was a lot of fun for us because the process felt like painting. We followed the music and lyrics to create a dreamy, metaphorical world that reminded us of “Alice in Wonderland.” We took our time to find the right sound, but we’re really happy with how it turned out.

I've been a die-hard fan of Milky Chance for years, but seeing them post an AI lyric video is just plain disappointing.
As an aspiring filmmaker and animator myself, this is just sad. I've always dreamed of making a video for you guys, and I'm sure many artists would be thrilled to get an opportunity like that...
Support your fellow (and real) artists, support your community, you're better than this.

Do you also think it would be okay to ask an AI to create some new Milky Chance songs whenever we feel like it, since it would cost us money to listen to it and take some time for the actual artists to create something genuine? I don’t see any reason to condemn Milky Chance for using AI in these videos. You have to remember that these are not the official videos for the songs. The official videos were most definitely created by artists. The lyric videos using AI are gifts to us from Milky Chance so we can learn the lyrics and be mesmerized at the same time. This band loves collaborating with other artists. I think people will always prefer hand-made over machine-made so artists will always be needed and wanted. 🩷

@@papbappow To make things worse is they actually briefly dipped their toes into NFTs way back at the beginning of that trend… They definitely weren’t as bad as others jumping on that bandwagon so I kind of just chalked it up to not really understanding it but it still put a bad taste in my mouth. I’d even messaged them on instagram saying it was disappointing and got a response and it was such a paper thin excuse that I just stopped listening to their music for a while.
Flash forward to this, unfortunately I can’t say I’m surprised. What a let down because otherwise I find their music and creativity amazing...! It just shows you how even artists are capable of devaluing other mediums without a second thought. They wouldn’t dare to release a song made with AI… Or maybe they would lol.
