Dado! I played a cup, something like a “World Cup for Croatian teams outside of Croatia” (yes, very niche 😂). That year it was held in Villefranche, next to Monaco, France. When we landed, we got picked up my multiple cars. I started talking to our driver. A very talkative and seemed to be a super nice guy. I started asking him how come he lives in France and so on. He answers “I played a little football here in Monaco a long time ago, and just liked it here”. I took a better look, and understood that our driver is Dado Pršo, but without the long hair. He was managing the Croatian team from Villefranche. “Are you Dado Pršo!?”, he laughs and says “Yeah…”. Point of the story: Amazing player, and seemed to be a super down to earth person also.
Pršo carried Croatian team that is considered by many the worst one since independence. That away goal vs Slovenia was legendary, Croatia just went down to 10 players in 2nd half while still drawing 0-0 (Slovenia would go to Euros on away goals with that result) and Pršo scored just 2 minutes later. You can hear commentator scream "We needed 10 players to score!" Just one thing: Please be careful while you look at the assist stat at transfermarkt for older years since in some games there is no info on who asissted goals. Otherwise love your videos

Dado is from my hometown Zadar, as many other croatian players as Luka Modrić, Danijel Subašić, Šime Vrsaljko, Dominik Livaković,Martin Erlić,Ivan Santini, Stipe Perica, also the roots of Mark Viduka are from ZD. I remember when I was kid Dado was playing cage football with his friends in winter break betwen league matches, true winner and one "the streets will never forget" There is something in the water in my hometown Zadar.

Tommy Coyne had just left Dundee United the season before they got to the UEFA cup final, four years after Aberdeen won the Cup Winners Cup and Coyne had first signed for United... So he was playing for one of the strongest teams in the strongest era of Scottish football. Scottish teams have done well in Europe a handful of times, but the 80's was far and away the height of Scottish football strength in Europe and that was with Aberdeen and Dundee United, the New Firm. The 60's had one standout, the 2000's had the Old Firm just glad to get to the finals and that was after spending so heavily that one of them basically dissolved. I don't think I have ever seen somebody be so thoroughly wrong about something that they had no reason to chip in about, it's almost impressive how comprehensively incorrect your comment was.

He was a laughing stock at Newcastle but I remember his six months at Rangers where he seemed to be head and shoulder above team mates and opponents. Never understood why it went so wrong when he moved on.

He had something detected, was it due to un-sportsmen life as teenager in Split, or it was some deviation from normal which in his case wasn't dangerous - it showed later. Remember that many young sportsmen die on football field today, because their deviations wasn't considered dangerous by trainers - as cardiologists often mention. He was really talented, but he was in generation there were better than he in that team, so nobody cares a lot, - send him out, I don't want him to fall on field during match.

Civil war of yugoslavia is a term mostly used by serbs in an effort to present other countries as countries who had no right to declare independence so the all of the actions of yugoslavian army (at that moment serbia and montenegro) and serbian minority in croatia and bosnia and herzegovina would be legaly justified as an effort to stop the unlawful rebelion. I believe the Yugoslav Wars were split into a variety of different conflicts? Wikipedia calls it the Croatian War of Independence. I try to be as neutral as possible whenever I have to mention this conflict in my videos, but someone always tells me I've said something in a wrong way.

Wars in slovenia, croatia, bosnia and herzegovina and kosovo are sometimes called as wars or conflicts of yugoslavia but every one of the them is being treated as a separate war. The yugoslav wars is used only when all 4 wars are being mentioned in the same context (usually as a break up of yugoslavia). The croatian one is called as war of independence.
Civil war of yugoslavia is a term mostly used by serbs in an effort to present other countries as countries who had no right to declare independence so the all of the actions of yugoslavian army (at that moment serbia and montenegro) and serbian minority in croatia and bosnia and herzegovina would be legaly justified as an effort to stop the unlawful rebelion.
