I have been around drums for 30 years and have seen many and i will have to say Matt Mcguire is the one the most exciting drummers ever to watch. Between his performance and editing makes him one of the best drummers to date. Been a huge fan for years and he continues to still impress.

im sorry but these guys dont even come close to matt in my opinion matts style is so unique i never even seen some of the techniques he uses. his flow is impeccable. he adds everything right where it needs to be and makes it just enough, not too much and im never left feeling like an extra roll or cymbal should be added in..and the way he drums with such passion you know hes feeling that shit.. this fucking guy is the best period

Philip Weinstein. Yeah man. Same. That right there is a Djent. That's usually when the the kicks to drums follow the rhythm exactly to the guitar or piano etc. I love doing that with drums. It also vise versa. A guitarist could follow the rhythm to the drummers feet as well. The band Parkway Drive is a perfect example of this, so if you haven't heard of them. If you love stuff like that. Consider them :)

This is probably too forward of me, but...you should shoot for higher endorsements. I think you could be playing Zildjian at this point, you'd represent them well. Soultone is just... I dunno man. Company that hands out endorsements left and right, with products that break easily. And your drums sound fine, but I'm sure any number of companies would line up to build you a new kit, including Mapex themselves. I really don't mean disrespect here, but you're gaining some traction and you should be properly rewarded for it.

Man I watch MANY of his videos multiple times a day every day for a couple months now lol...0.25x speed just trying to learn what I can... but even then some things are too fast for the resolution and it's hard to see what in the HELL he is doing haha...
edit: and because of that my push pull speed has greatly improved, I can alllmost match his, but I start to lose clarity. Soon though!
