What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments,
but what is woven into the lives of others." - Pericles
Giorgio Sancristoforo plays an original song, called "Luthiers Du Ciel", composed and performed on a LUTHIEROS Kithara of the Golden Age. It is inspired by his close collaboration with the Koumartzis family, and their joint effort to bring back to life in the 21st century, musical instruments from ancient Greece and Rome.
The recordings took place in Castello Sforzesco in the city of Milan, Italy, where Giorgio is currently living and creating art.
The video's thumbnail depicts a seated nymph with an ancient kithara, which was found at the Villa of San Marco Stabiae, buried by the Vesuvian eruption in 79 A.D.
The video session took place inside Castello Sforzesco in Milan.

this Kithara has a beautiful sound, I'd describe it as "aquatic". I just know it was meticulously crafted. Shoutout to Giorgio for the beautiful playing and instrument design

Thanks for listening, Cesar, and for your great comment. :)
beautiful, What is the difference between a kithara and a lyre ??
Thanks for the comment! The ancient kithara is a more elaborated version of the lyre, mainly used by professionals in ancient Greece and Rome. On the other hand, the lyre was more of the national musical instrument for the Greeks back then, available to everyone in terms of cost.
What's more, we strongly believe that the kithara also had a movable yoke, making it able to produce tremolo and vibrato, adding tons of additional sounds to the musician's repertoire.
