I saw some The Shining as well. I see it as one of those dreams where someone is chasing you. He's constantly singing "we belong together, we belong together", so I interpret it as him facing his own shadow and then integrating it. The synchronized dance moves feel powerful, but macabre, too. Shadow integration usually makes one do some taboo stuff, so I feel like this music video means he's accepting things about himself which are unaccepted by society and he's fully affirming his condition as a human being born out of duality and contradiction. In the end, it was all a dream, but now he has faced (even embraced) his fear and has awoken to a new level of conscious being.

My interpretation is that the man is a manifestation of his fans/his relationship with fame. He stalks and chases him around, hurting him even, but there are brief moments of fun and respite from the fighting (his shows, the parties, etc). Harry even “bites the hand that feeds him,” resenting the fame and the people who have put him in the position he’s in even though from the outside it seems like an idealistic life.
This was my take also, good interpretation of the hand biting.

I think the man with the glasses stands for the darkness, the problems, the insanity chasing after you every step of your life. He jumps at Harry down the stairs where he possibly couldn’t even catch him but that’s how depression is. Their both roll down the spiral stairs just like light and darkness inside a camera lens as we roll it to focus on what we want. Even after darkness beats up the light and slams it into broken glass, light just takes the five seconds, takes a sip of some sweet drink and gets back to the fight. Except, now having changed focus and replenishing itself, the melancholy in life elevates to creative whimsy and insanity. You can dance with it, smile at it, look mental doing it. But light and dark belong together. Shift your focus, just fix your aperture. And you have whimsy.

I’ve seen most people say that the scary dude represents fame but I honestly think he just represents Harry’s inner demons hear me out. At the beginning no one is answering at the room service and there’s no one at the reception. He can no longer rely on other people so he decides to get out by himself. Harry feels the dude following him who then puts down the have a nice day bag aka the fake positivity and starts chasing him. They both fall down a spiral staircase because they keep going in circles. They keep passing so many exit signs which represent the darkest thoughts as in the thoughts of suicide. The dude keeps attacking Harry until Harry stops resisting and accepts him because they belong together. The more they fight the more synchronized they become. “Aperture lets the light in” means that you decide how much light you let into your life. Personally though my favorite part is the bridge "I won't stray from it I don't know these spaces time won't wait on me I wanna know what safe is" because he wants to work all this stuff out and keep going and accept his demons instead of fighting them or ignoring them. At the end everything goes back to normal and the receptionist is back so Harry’s no longer trapped with his unresolved inner thoughts

This was great art. In the end, he learns that the thing he was trying so hard to run away from or ignoring was doing him no good. Instead he accepted it. Embraced it. Acknowledged it. Danced with it. It’s always going to be there but now that he’s acknowledged it. In a way he can have a chance at controlling it. Controlling himself. Growing. Even if the growth looks routine and monotonous. It’s better than fighting it and falling.

Really understanding what it feels like to be part of an audience, vs on stage. Having new, beautiful experiences side by side with strangers singing & dancing, experiencing euphoria, etc. + he mentioned being inspired by the music festivals he attended. So l believe it's an artistic representation of that!
Kind of like an outline of the whole experience. Hotel, getting ready, going out, not knowing where the nights going to take you, along the way running into/meeting strangers, having this wild bonding experience together, maybe even fighting off internal/societal norms and just being free to feel and express, then it's over in what feels like a blink of an eye, just a memory in a hotel bed.
