I have a CZ1 along with CZ-v, and they're super close but not 1:1. I imported all of my hardware patches and cart patches to CZ-v. It's really not enough of a difference to matter to me in the end. Arturia did a good job here.
Just in the DAW. I transferred the sysex patches from my CZ1, if I get the chance I'll check to see there aren't some other features that need to be enabled.
The only differens between the two is that the CZ-1 have stronger fundamental frequencies then CZ-V and that CZ-V have louder high-mid to high frequency harmonics then the CZ-1. Which to me gives the CZ-1 a more pleasant rounder sound plus that some of Arturias presets seem to have a slight detune between the oscillators. My guess is that it’s either a programming issue of the Arturia presets or that CZ-V waveforms can go a bit further with its phase distortion than the CZ-1. Either way it should be a quite easy fix for Arturia to make it sound identical. Nice comparison between the two 👍🏻
@user-my5cj4ee7h to begin with, the last stage of the output is analogue. The chorus on the cz1 is also analogue. Those elements adds to the final feel of the sound. On top of that, that something is digital doesn't means that it sounds like another digital synth. Digital can sound organic or static. DX7 mk1 sounds more organic than DX7 mk2. And way more organic than plugins.
I thought some sounds better on real CZ, like bass or lead sounds. It has a bit more of a mid range eq bump IMO, due to lofi DACS no doubt. On some of the brighter sounds, like harp, I prefered the plugin. Much cleaner sounding. Listening on headphones btw.
Which is which? 😂 Seriously, I don't know as I don't own either one, but I'm not sure if the weirdly colored mean active or inactive. They sound different but I like both.
@@davidmochen Since I have the Arturia CZ-V, well… I didn’t use soo much the CZ-1. Arturia did a good job. Nice presets, interesting automation, good effects, and lots of presets.
Thank you and bravo for this very well done video ! Still, I think your nice comparison video with Virtual CZ is more relevant : the Virtual CZ is far cheaper and only emulates the CZs. The CZ-V, as you mentioned, goes far beyond the CZ series, adding new Phase Distortion features that are absent on the CZ series and power, plus several choices for the output DAC that was the weak point of the earlier series, and a tremendous effects weaponry that bring the sound to other heights 😊 Again, the user interface ot the CZ-V allows to create sounds in a far, far quicker easier way than on the original product ! If you are curious, here are two pieces where I almost exclusively use the CZ-V : ruclips.net/video/OZX31nMDRfA/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/kuE8GqxrcO8/видео.html Many Arturia's sounds are just impressive, I always have a CZ-V ready to go when I start a new composition 😊
I listened, very authentic tone. ruclips.net/video/gAkz84qxXiQ/видео.html I used a lot of CZ-V on this track too. Is far beyond the CZ original yet still remain the tone. Thanks for both of you guys video.
You should dig this plugin, it is so worth it ! I am so enthusiast about it !! I sent two links of pieces I made with it, in my comment to Runningonairmusic. Listen to them to motivate you about this excellent plugin 😃
Some of these sounds like 10:41 are nice it reminds of a old pc engine, like a old video game synth sound i like it.

Yes, the virtual CZs are very good.
May I ask how the CZ-V sound are being captured (recorded?)? It doesn't sound right. I have both too.
Just in the DAW. I transferred the sysex patches from my CZ1, if I get the chance I'll check to see there aren't some other features that need to be enabled.
@@RunningonairMusic I usually will track the softsynth back into the DAW. my softsynths are on another computers with their own DAC.
You did an amazing job. Thank you sooo much for that
No problem.

Thanks
The original sounds more organic, more pleasing to my ears.
Yes, it seems cleaner. There are some CZ DAC settings, which i didn't notice till it was too late, so maybe that would make a difference.
@@RunningonairMusic I found it warmer, more "analogue"...
I have a CZ-1 myself (and a 101), and really like its sound.

fair enough!

Lol, colour means active. Good point though!
Sound to me like Arturia made a better emulation that PluginBoutique. This one is worth considering.
It has a lot more features. I think they're both pretty good.
CZ101 seems to have more bite, oomph or attack on most of the patches. I am only listening on my phone however. Good video, many thanks.
no problem!
The casio had a magic crapness that leaves the vst sounding too hi fi
I guess that'll be the dac then!
Both are a crap, but this is why we love the CZ line 😂 nothing else sounds like. I have both, one day I hate, next day I love. Magic of CZ.
I know what you mean, in a way 😄
Its good at least its not a 5,000 analog synth.
Take your time to really learn to program it, presets are incredibly crappy.

yeah it sounds thin, like needs some saturation idunknw arturia ..i can here a good difference

CZ-1はアタック感があるけど、CZ-Vはべちゃぁ~っとした感じだなぁ。
Interesting
Sounds awesome. I have the plugin but never used it. I fail yet again
I've not fully explored it either!

Umm, i hardly hear any difference.
But there are sounds i hear difference.
The plugin is just a cliche of the original synth.
maybe
@@RunningonairMusic Sure!
