It’s the first full day in the Gold Coast, and we started it with a really satisfying breakfast buffet at the hotel, because as my sister says it best - “I’m on holiday”.
It was a chill day for the most part and got to visit 2 recommended eateries which both turned out delicious. So thank you. (you know who you are)

Last time I was there, the buffet breakfast at QT Hotel was epic

If you are still on the Gold Coast good/ casual Japanese lunch place is Amimoto in Surfers Paradise. It’s been there forever and the Chirashi and tempura sushi roll are fantastic. Kiyoma is also excellent and very fancy.

LOL! Your sis cracks me up. Breakfast buffet looked pretty good. When I went to Brissy and saw the beaches I was like, "meh, we have beaches in Sydney" I just found my old photos of when I first went to Qld, Mainly pics of my family farm in Gympie and I went to Bundaberg to deliver a car.
Yeah brekkie was decent! I looked forward to breakfast every night before I went to sleep

Great vid Janice, hope you have fun in GC, I was there in January this year, I’ll have to make note of the places you visit when I’m next there, Warringah Mall Brookvale is similar to Pacific Fair but not as big, also Rouse Hill shopping mall, the mall in Hawaii is the Ala Moana centre, been there too 😂 the Langham buffet looks really good, wonder if the Sydney Langham has similar breaky buffet?
I think Sydney Langham has a similar buffet, and I have actually been meaning to try it for the longest time. the Langham and also the breakfast buffet at Crown

smoked turkey congee?? how do you make it?
@@JaniceFung I just get smoked turkey drumsticks from the supermarket and it goes from the beginning with the water and rice. I add a few pieces of ginger. Once the drumsticks gets soft I take them out and shred the meat and skin and throw it back into the congi and salt to taste and some white pepper and thousand year old eggs. It is sooo yummy

Nice vlog! i think Pacific Fair is very similar to Warringah mall. Just curious do you prebook these hotels and restaurants diner or walk-in? since I would imagine it is more difficult and real expensive by just walk up the place

Some places I book, but others, like the cafe for eg, I just do a walk in
Check mermaid beach surf club. Food is great and awesome views and nice people.

the same people who designed and built Warringah mall brookvale designed and built pacific fair. they are like carbon copies of eachother.
I was going to say, Janice should really check out Warringah Mall (not now because of massive renovation works, but it’s a really lovely place to shop when necessary and without the awful locked away feeling of other malls in Sydney)
@@zoeyelda3926 you see a bunch of people loitering around these malls without any purpose, not there to shop not there to eat, just waiting for a message on their WhatsApp group for a group activity a group outing. Jobseeker is clearly not enough.
@@Jay-su5yo I don't really go to many malls, but at Warringah it's mostly hot young beach mums with their bubs in groups, and lots of teenagers "hanging out" (better that than them causing mischief/doing naughty things/etc). I guess they are a bit like playgrounds for teenagers - easy to drop them off there for a day and they can entertain themselves lol.
When you visit the Philippines, try eating goto or arrozcaldo, our version of congee.
