  • The Iriya Morning Glory Market is one of the largest morning glory markets in Japan, which has been held since the end of the Edo period.
It is said to have originated in the late Edo period when gardeners in Iriya cultivated and displayed morning glories, and has long been known as a summer tradition in the downtown area.
Iriya Kishimojin (Shingenji Temple) and Kototoi-dori Street become pedestrian zones, and about 100 morning glory stalls line the streets from early in the morning, and you can enjoy more than 120,000 pots of morning glories.
At Iriya Kishimojin, you can receive charms with artificial morning glories and limited-edition goshuin for a limited time only.
