i love them both..this is one of the reasons why i really love dancesport..they stand now as my inspiration to strive more in dancing..they dance not only with their physical aspects..as well as with their emotion..go andrey and anna!
This is what happens when athletics takes over grace and feelings. Talent is there but not expressed. For me dancing is much more than that. if I want pure athletes, I will watch the olympics....
Absolutely agree! I can see here a lot of physical skills, however no real feelings. It's not a dance anymore, it became something like a race. Just fake faces and fake feelings...that really annoys me. I was wondering maybe dancers should be taught some acting skills, like movie or theater actors...then at least they can play better...
@xyf888 I hear you.. WDSF trying to sit between 2 chairs! Hopefully when dust settles things are gonna start to look better.. Ballroom as a sport - possible and fair... The new judging system is ridiculously weak at analysing details of technical peformance UNLIKE other sports, and that's a letdown.. So the "sportsmen" instead of trying to understand what to tense up and what to relax in order to be more efficient, just tense up everything and start looking... hm... beginner-ish?...
Their style is pretty much like minimal chemistry or spontaneity, no fancy chore, just push themselves to be stronger & stronger (sorry, but they're not the fastest couple either). Yes one can admire their strength, but after a while it gets boring to watch. I think they have forgot other very important elements in dancing - they've got less chemistry than that bro-sis couple from Germany! May I say Anna's dancing is not very sexy, and Andrey... I don't even want to comment on him.
@cry4dance P.S.: I think, sadly, the situation is gonna stay the same for a very long while! unless the WDSF gathers the most prominent living coaches and forces them to give up ALL the fortune-worth secret "HOW TO" treasures, with a purpose to make a brand new, amazing book avalible for "every dog" to read online, under a title of "Compete Set of Rules of Technical Execution of the Dancesport Elements/steps/figures" ... THIS is a biggest letdown of all, you know..... x D
Yes, I found that I dislike direction dancing is moving now. Too mach sport not enoght art. On one hand, it might help techical development, because again, Max effect with minimum force will probably weed out absolute technical believes faster then old system. On other hand, for god sake I do not enjoy watching it. I would not be surprised of soon people begin to measure APM of dancers (Action per minute), because how do you compare sport dancing otherwize? Add to it APA (Amplitude per action
hm..they are adults.. Wanna see more meaning in their dance, not only effort.. They have showy pieces of choreography, with supposedly variable types of movement required, but they just do everything one way: force it, push it, harder... like little kids when threy want to win the comp.. Besides, it makes the girl look uncoordinated, all the "impact" - she looses control because she throws her weight around on every single move..
@cry4dance Something like 'How to win a WDSF event for dummies'? Rule #1, never dance a WDC event lol... Oops we could be banned to comment at anytime...
@cry4dance Then you should see how the rest of the top WDSF couples dance like - most of them push their bodies to the limit. And you know what, at the end of the day according to WDSF, it is a 'sport' rather than 'art' *wink*. And that's probably why they introduced this ridiculous new judging system.
@SwapyWhoopedazz I think it challenges them in a very bad way. It makes a ridicule of their choreography, and if they tried to actually interpret this music it would ruin the character of the dance too. Luckily these two just ignored everything but the beat, but it shouldn't have to be like that.

He needs a chestwax.

EL CHA-CHA QUE ELLOS BAILAN ES MARAVILLOSO, EXCEPTO POR LA MUSICA... ES HORRIBLE
