Well tough day for our girls... I am more concerned about fielding and bowling.. Batting hemlata should not be at 3 , jemi only at 3 we would have won it. Harman also played too slow ... But it happened at least we know our weakness.. SA played well.
True Harry di (Harman) could done have a better job, I am missing her big shots and her long-bashing sixes may we will see it tomorrow in 3rd and final t20I.

Jemimah is a much improved player especially in her strike rate. A few years ago she had no power and was just managing a run a ball. Now, she can hit all around the wicket even though she still does not have power. She has shown better consistency than Yastika and Hemalatha, so it is a good call by the commenters below that she be sent in at #3. In the WPL, Delhi Capitals use her at #3. Yastika, Hemalatha and Harleen can fight it out for the other spot; of these 3, I think Hemalatha has more power, and given time, she will outcompete the other two.
Honestly, Jemimah or Harmanpreet herself should have come at no. 3. Even if they would not have scored boundaries, they would rotated the strike better and Smriti was already taking care of boundaries at that time. India probably would have won as they came so close. And also I feel Harmanpreet somehow loses her tactical mind in T20s. Not having alternate plans is not new. Except Bangladesh series, India has lost against both Australia and England and they suffered the same; lack of planning.
In all, a very good game of cricket. The way, Laura, Brits & Kapp batted was say, fantastic. Just a change in the approach and SA looked a different team altogether. Hats off to them! So keeping out Shreyanka from the playing eleven was a decision in question. She's the only bowler, who gives you wickets with her aggression and she has a unique ability to set up a batter. That's the first weak link inserted in the team. We are responsible for not letting the top 5 bowl more in the test & one dayers. In the T20, in a tougher situation we can't even think of trying them, for now. We forget that even Jemmy could bowl with her cricketing brain a few. That's the created gap by the management. This invited the sixth bowler in the regular eleven which the team can afford only if Richa is considered one amongst top 5 batters. Putting it in simple term, we would've made a match out of this one, just by keeping the thing simple. Jemmy at 03, Herman at 04 and the match was won. Making Jemmy bat at 05 is to me, a negative approach but was justifiable till last year for some reason. Your top order was unpredictable then. Now they are more reliable, we can say. It is a weird approach to try n find some non existent No.03 on the basis of her ability to hit sixes !! May be we can find one in the women weight lifter team for the Olympics. The real visible risk seen looking Jemmy at 05 is we may BURNOUT our technically & temperamentally best player with the Load & Pressure!! She was made the way out in the comment section, just a day before. Even the Vlog reference of her was not say encouraging. So better keep the thing simple, make Jemmy a regular 03 (in all formats.) And Richa our regular no. 5 buffer, where she can both stabilize the innings if needed & finish at will. In a T20 game, what's the point in keeping Richa, Pooja, Dipti, Sajana waiting in the dugout and losing a game?

Int'l level regulation catch to win matches like Aussies. 3. Durinf test match, dirext hit run out misses. Now, Renuka will continue to struggle in non-streaming conditions. I hv been saying this through Eng, Aus,WPL. She bowls only angular below 100. Only useful in seaming congitons , like CWG 2022 games. She was no bite. Pooja could trouble because of extra 15kmph and straightish angle. If we want to dominate Aus Eng in future, we need tall, high arm 115+ bowlers. Renuka is not the opening bowler one wants. Shraddha Porkharkar is is tall, left handed. She should be included after WC, WPL 2025. Leg spinner is imp, especially in t20 wc bdesh, but where r we going to hide her in field at 33. Parshvi chopra should be tried but its too late. Radha has no control over line inspite of playing for so many yrs. Sophie eccelstone se seekh le how to bowl arcs. Hemalatha should learn how to bad at No3, first ODI also, she wasted opportunity. Yesterday her batting caused Smriti wicket then she got out herself.
Your analysis is always insightful. I agree with your criticism of Renuka; she has not done well for RCB in both the WPL seasons. I have not seen Shraddha. Meg Lanning was very upbeat about Arundhati in WPL 2023, playing her in every game. Let's hope that young Shabnam Shakil develops into a good fast bowler soon. I was not a fan of Arundhati before, but given Meg's support, I would like to try her ahead of Renuka. Shabnam is too inexperienced to risk it. Parshavi Chopra had a very good WPL 2022 but didn't do well in WPL 2023. Let's hope she improves. Although there are good arguments that you need variety in your bowling attack such as a left armer, leg spinner etc., I think at the end of the day the best bowlers should play. Presently, Shreyanka is performing better than Radha and Asha so I would rather play Shreyanka.
I also have a question. Does India really need Hemalatha there? Isn't a fast-bowling all rounder like Anjali Sarvani who is also a left-arm medium pacer or Amanjot Kaur a better option? Specifically when India clearly misses an alternate bowling option if their 5 doesn't click.
Definitely India is lacking in bowling department.... The consistency is bowling is not upto the mark but batting department has been great but we are expecting some careful batting from shafali... Bcz her partnership with smriti is the key to victory and shafali is not being consistent with the bat...
