In this comprehensive tutorial, I'll show you the secrets behind one of Photoshop Elements' most powerful tools: layer masks. Why use Layer Masks? Layer masks allow you to control the transparency of different parts of your layer without permanently altering your image. This flexibility makes it an essential tool for photo editors, graphic designers, and digital artists. We will look at what a Layer Mask is, the different ways to create a layer mask, tips and tricks to get the most out of your layer masks, and common mistakes to avoid and how to fix them if they happen.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced user, this video will help you elevate your photo editing skills to the next level.

You're welcome Debra! I thought this would be a useful follow up video to my last one about the Refine Edge tool.

Hey. As a beginner I wonder how you save all the layers you have made to one picture.

Photoshop Elements automatically saves in the psd file format which saves all layers. You can print directly from the psd file. If you need the file as a jpg or png then just do a Save As. I usually do 2 saves, one as the psd so that I have all the layers, and then a Save As to png for use on the web.

Hi Gail, you will find the course materials by logging into the Photo Coach and clicking on Project Guides in the right side menu, or scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the Project Guides section. In older videos the links are in the video description, same thing for older PSE videos on my other channel, the links are in the description. I have taken down the PSE support for the other channel, so if you happen to see a video over there with a missing link just let me know and I will add it to the description. The project files for this video will be going up shortly.
