Hearing Brandon give props for homeschooling was the most validating thing I’ve heard in a long time. I am eternally grateful for my wife who lives her calling to be an educator for our kids.
Homeschooling just makes a lot of sense. We are constantly told children are the future, then are also told to let someone else raise them for 12-15 years. Little wonder we are where we are.
Brandon and Nerdrotic hit the nail on the head with the Captain America arc with Bucky. Something as a nerd I was furious about 48:50 . Thanks for being a geek with me guys!
I got called racist bc I said although I like Anthony Mackie and like him in twisted metal , he isn’t cap , I don’t buy him as cap , and they should cast a better dude . And fire all the woman
Bucky was the one who the mantle of Captain America gets passed to because Bucky knew him, fought with him, everything. It made sense for Bucky to be Caps' successor. In Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Falcon and his sister go to the bank to try to get a loan for their parents' fishing boat. The guy at the bank is tickled to meet him but explains that they cannot give him a loan based on the fact that he has no income or employment history for the last five years(the Thanos snap). Falcon immediately pulls both the race card and the "I was an avenger!" card. Half of the world's population was blipped out of existence and Falcon thinks he's the only one who can't get a loan based on just his skin color and that being an avenger five years prior granted him some kind of special privilege. That right there showed how he was not fit to be the next Cap. I'm convinced that those who are calling others racist are themselves the actual racists.
Dankula is definitely in the works no shot in hell he isnt with how much theyve all used his clips in edits. Thatll be the podcast to break the internet I swear. They have to have nick on with him to tism out over history id be pissed if they didnt
My step son is an Aspie, my grandson is going through the diagnosis process and I was diagnosed with what they now call ASPD in the 80s. Eli being so open about Raiden, and the way everyone in the Unsub gang going "look at the awesome little dude!" gives me hope for the neurospicy amongst us.
Hearing you guys talk about parenting autistic kids really helped me out a lot. My son was just diagnosed (2 years old) and really sent me spinning into a bad headspace. Getting him involved in therapies to help him but it’s good to hear from other men who have dealt with this and to hear that their kids are thriving. Thank you guys for that.
A lot of progress can be made, especially at this early age. Keep your head up, it can ben lots of work, but it's worth it. You can say that for raising kids in general, to be honest...
My son was dx at 2 as well, but born with other dx. He's 10 now and still in therapies. Both of my boys have dx and it is a lot of work. It's a lot of battling insurance too. ❤
Honestly I wouldn't stress too much about your kid being diagnosed with autism. I grew up in the 90's, where ADHD/ADD was the scapegoat for literally everything, and usually boiled down to kids just being kids. Now in 2024 I'm seeing the same goddamn thing with autism. People are just too stupid to know how to handle a kid anymore. They really expect a 2nd-grader to sit still and attentive for 8 hours straight in school? Really? Of fucking course they're losing interest and fidgeting and being disruptive. The problem isn't the kid, it's the system.
When Brandon said "I wouldn't trust the government to build a website" I really felt that. It gave me flashbacks of the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) website I had to use the last few years I was in the Army Reserve. Sounds like Eli and I were in around the same era so I bet I remembers it, if he hasn't blocked it out. Also the FCC website is a pain the navigate. The easiest part of getting an amateur radio (ham radio) license is taking the test. Navigating the FCC website is the hardest part.

My mom was a single mom and sent me and my brother to private school. There were times she would go to pay tuition and someone from our church had already paid it. I love the idea of helping pay for kid's tuition.
You have a new subscriber here. Was only here because you had Gary on but you guys are awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. Hail the fellowship and hail the 199.
To be honest, when "THE MESSAGE" hit Doctor Who that's when the British audience bailed. So it's not British propaganda, it's propaganda put out by the BBC.
The saddest thing for nerd culture in the long run of the activist infiltration is it will loose the welcoming aspect it used to have, the few franchises which stood did so by being first unnoticed then actively gatekeeping and that suspicion of new comers will endure far longer than 'The Message' they sought to progergate
pop culture is just corporate dogmatism for the masses is what I think nowadays, its so depressing and infuriating to watch big corporations ruin cultural idea after idea by reducing it to be consumed by the lowest common denominator, and how people just accept it as normal because its been happening for decades and a few generations.
I feel like as long as someone clearly shows an interest and a respect for the source material, even if they're new to that specific subject, that group of people is going to be far more welcoming than if it's somebody who knows next to nothing about it and what they do know they want changed to better fit their beliefs. At the end of the day it's just someone else's story, what their creative mind has manufactured and shared with the world, that you just so happen to also enjoy. The only time someone else's creative works should be "tampered" with by another individual is if the creator directly asks that specific individual for their input. Other than that, leave it the fuck alone. Do you think Renaissance artwork would have progressed art as much as it did if the artists were constantly taking every piece of unsolicited input from the catholic church? Fuck no it wouldn't.
It's like Rippaverse using the current Canadian leadership to help fund his short about his culture comics, but also trying to take it back from those types of people, is hypocrisy to its definition. The fact that Gary lets it slide shows most of the Ragetubers that cover pop culture are in it for the money, not the message, besides they said xmen 97 was going to be woke, then it came out and it wasnt, so Gary and co got shredded by the rest of the internet for lying about it and then ignored it like it never happened. Your message is only as strong as those you put in these leadership positions, that's why disney is going to continue to dominate, Gary makes more videos about them than any disney shill channel, he's their top promoter. Big companies learned years back to pay RUclipsrs on the back end and get people generating drama, if you guys dont see that, then i dont know what to tell you.
James Cameron asked Linda Hamilton to cut her hair short for T2 and she refused. She told him she's a BA with long hair and thats that. I'm so glad she stood her ground.
Did you hear about the ice troll she killed in under ten seconds? She's doesn't like to talk about or bring it up. But she defeated an ice troll in under ten seconds all by herself. Lol
As a 24 year old dude that got diagnosed with ASD at 22, the talk about how autism affects you as a parent is in a way a reassurance to me. I was told back in second grade that I probably have ADHD or something and my mother refused to get me tested because she didn't want to put me on stims like Adderall, thank you for that in hindsight, but it also sucks that I had to go through what you're describing without the necessary help structure because I didn't get diagnosed for the longest time. I hope every day that when my kids come around that it'll pass over them but given the fact that nearly every generation in family had one kid with autism, I just hope that I can be the best father for them and give them the support that I didn't get for the longest time. Also my interest in space, rockets, and by extension, guns, really weirded my mom out, as she couldn't understand why the kid who was learning, or attempting to learn, rocket science at 12, was also really into how a short stroke gas piston cycled rounds, especially since I only lived in deep blue states until my jaunt in college before covid fucked that up. Longwinded, and probably partially disconnected comment aside, Eli, Gary, keep being killer fucking dads, I know your kids will appreciate it, if not now, then after they've grown up.
I was told I had ADHD early in school, my parents didn't take it seriously, this stuff isn't very advanced in my country at all I took some kind of relaxant for a bit, and it really helped. I actually managed to pay attention in class and my grades greatly improved. They didn't get more meds after the first batch ended, then it went back to how it was. I am quite a bit older now, focusing on anything became even harder, I'm always filled with some degree of anxiety trying to juggle everything, but my grip is slipping every time. I used to be very sociable and outgoing, now I'm barely functioning. In some ways more detached than ever, in others I'm like an exposed nerve, too delicate. I basically gave up on everything, just doing my dead end job and trying my best to enjoy the little things until it's over.
Holy shit. I grew up in San Francisco and just realized I would go to his comic book store he talks about. I knew he looked familiar what a small world. Wow
Gary has had a genuinely incredible life and I always love openly sober people talking about their recovery and seeing them become success stories. Wish him the absolute best
I was laughing so hard, my husband wanted to know what set me off. I described The Offenders. Hubby immediately said "So the politician is Kenny from South Park?" Politician? OMG that puts it into a whole new perspective!
Great seeing Gary here, hail the fellowship!! I love how the "fellowship" is growing, and is so much larger than assumed. It's amazing how the intersection of various groups of people driven by different experiences, hobbies, professions, and beliefs are coming together over shared interests and the desire to preserve and protect our culture and our values which are under attack in every sphere of entertainment.
I've just been letting this play while setting up a new plate carrier and I keep getting pulled away from my main activity to focus on this podcast. This is some good shit, guys. Great call bringing comic book guy on for an episode.
I mentioned that my autistic 13 year old was struggling to get a certain achievement in mw3 zombies in a Reddit post . I’m old but still a dad and had the goal of figuring out how to do it myself with zero cod games experience. 2 days later 2 zombies chads gathered my son and together they owned the wasteland without knowing the proper terms. He was talking , conversing, and I cried . He rarely says more than a few words to me but I loved seeing him in the zone.
I used to listen to Distractable for a while, but nowadays it mostly this, Isander and Koda, and Adeptus Ridiculous for the Warhammer 40k lore. I am literally nerd maxing and I will not apologize
Timcast IRL and the occasional JRE are my go-to’s. Neither even remotely as funny as Unsub, despite having frequent guest comics. Although, I have a stack of Fat Electrician content to get through now after enough appearances here…
@@Pseudoswede oh I've been caught up on Nick's videos, been watching them since tiktok. The reason I left that dumbass app is because he moved here and IAmSnakeFab went to Instagram. This podcast made me think about the woman who I think is making the Marvel 1943 game and how she said there are no white people on my team because I wanted to create a “safe space”. I was sitting there asking did she just admit to discriminatory hiring practices online?
Goooood Moring from NC!!! My wife, daughter, Vet father and I are on the way to a Ruritan BBQ, Eastern NC style. I'm sure Brandon misses that taste of home. Love you guys, thanks for the upload, and laughs in the car on the way there❤
I think I've said it before, but these episodes have been absolutely top tier! All the love Unsub crew, thanks for the Saturday morning cartoons ❤️❤️❤️
Hell yeah great to see Gary on. Always like an addict getting sober because I've dealt with it myself (alcoholism, 10 years sober), it runs in both sides of my family, and have sat in many meetings and listened to many others struggle.
Great Podcast, as always. Though I did want to say that, as an autistic adult who went through an ABA program in middle school: not a lot of people realize that ABA is actually just a form of torture for neurodivergent kids. I still struggle with some mild ptsd from my time in the program and its been well over a decade. I remember not being able to explain to my parents just how painful the program was to endure and when I finally was able to, they took the words of the instructor over mine and the overall abuse continued. I'm glad that Eli is seeing progress with his son going through that program, but I do worry that he doesn't realize the potential negatives that could come from it. I recommend doing the research on the dark side of the program so it could be addressed going forward
In regards to the cat scene in Boondock Saints, I'm like 99% sure the credits do not say "no animals were harmed in the making of this film", so either it came out before that was a thing or the cat actually died. 😂
This was so good. I have just got over a long illness and I am just getting back into normal life and I want to get in touch with like minded people. I can see clearly the things talked about in this podcast, and I want to mix with other people who are looking for ways to make things better. With what time I have left I want to give support to those that are pushing to change the system and recover some of what we have lost. Unfortunately I live in the UK and I realise this is going to be difficult, but I live in hope.
I can't believe this is how I found out Ray Stevenson was gone! Dang, that dude was a fantastic actor. LOVED him as Titus Pullo in Rome when I was a teenager.

It was cool to see Gary on your show and how well everyone meshed. Him, you guys and Drinker are my never miss shows. I enjoy all your guests and discussions. Very rarely are people just one thing. I love the vets and the humor but I'm also a nerd. I enjoy anime, Magic the Gathering, and dirty humor. It's a lot more fun to watch a group of friends interact over a bunch of Karen's complaining about things that only matter in their 1st world bubble.

Blackrock is a major investor in most large business in Australia, and EVERY supermarket and home store chain. I think every entertainment venue too. their reach is into nearly everything in this country.
As somebody who's autistic, I agree with him. The right teacher can make a huge difference. For a lot of my life, I had a one-on-one teacher. The teacher I had from 7th to 12th grade really helped me with my love of history and music. With the right people behind you, there's almost nothing that an autistic person can't accomplish, these days.
I listened to my dads friends have this exact conversation about rock back in the 90s. Siting around the table drinking. Only difference is they didn't have a modern podcasts industry back then. Histroy moves in a cycles.

Hopefully Gary(hail) comes back again real soon! Maybe next time Quarter Black Garrett can guest too🙏🏻
My mom was a single mom and sent me and my brother to private school. There were times she would go to pay tuition and someone from our church had already paid it. I love the idea of helping pay for kid's tuition.

Slowly but surely, my favorite RUclips channels keep coming together.
not a brag....they're bitchy whining activist cultural warriors...zero respect in the real world.
Oh yeah, it's all coming together.
You have a new subscriber here. Was only here because you had Gary on but you guys are awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. Hail the fellowship and hail the 199.
Glad to have you here!
The crossover I didn't know I needed!!!!! And now Critical Drinker has to come on the podcast!
Yes! Get the Drinker!! And next all of them on EFAP! 🤯
@@Psycho-zb4cg Oh man if they got the Drinker that would be DOPE!

Gary is my current fav creator. When I am bored of looking for new content, I watch Gary’s old ROP reviews or podcasts
Best one….. the 5 worst franchises ruined in 2023. My absolute favourite. Watched it dozens of times! Lol
Congratulations to Nerdrotic for hittin a million. God I love these. And please do have him back sometime soon.
To be honest, when "THE MESSAGE" hit Doctor Who that's when the British audience bailed. So it's not British propaganda, it's propaganda put out by the BBC.
OK so this is the story that the Master told the Doctor.... the MASTER... master of lies, master of deception?
OK yeah... gottcha!
Donut... _AND_ Nerdrotic? A combination I was not expecting. Awesome Podcast. Glad I found you guys, subbed.
You can tell Gary is used to streaming alone. He keeps talking directly into the camera.
Good observation. I kinda like it, it's like Gary is breaking the 4th wall constantly since others aren't doing it as much hahaha
@@AGripOBabysgreatest example of dumbing things down for the lowest common denominator is the Halo TV show: the story of Master Cheeks...
This guy literally popped up on my feed yesterday and i watched a ton of his videos and now hes on here. RUclips algorithm FYW

That was extremely topical and coherent no apology needed. Glad you’ve got a great mindset toward things and learned the things you liked!
I was told I had ADHD early in school, my parents didn't take it seriously, this stuff isn't very advanced in my country at all
I took some kind of relaxant for a bit, and it really helped.
Wow
That’s awesome!!

This was so good. I have just got over a long illness and I am just getting back into normal life and I want to get in touch with like minded people. I can see clearly the things talked about in this podcast, and I want to mix with other people who are looking for ways to make things better. The intro of this show gives me genuine faith that *WE ARE SO BACK!!*
One thing I have noticed is that shows like these and people like yourselves are gaining a lot of ground. It's a lot more fun to watch a group of friends interact over a bunch of Karen's complaining about things that only matter in their 1st world bubble.
