I think the easiest way to distinguish Solei and Ophelia, as a viewer, is actually by their eyes. Soleil is wide-eyed and alert whereas Ophelia's eyes are more hooded and dozy.
My African Grey, JoJo, knows when to say appropriate words. She is 28. She says goodbye when we are putting our coats on to go. She says, Time to go to bed, when getting late. She says, wow or good job when she hears cheers or clapping. She asks for foods when we are preparing food. I think they learn like toddlers by associating word with actions. You guys are doing great!

Gizmo the Grey Bird was locked in a tiny cage for the first 16 years of his life. I doubt he had much human interaction. Yet now, only a few years later, he is an awesomely talkative and very funny (and happy) bird!
I hope you guys don't get too complacent with that "World's Smartest" thing. Apollo definitely hasn't reached the end of his potential at four years of age. I expect to be watching this channel (in some form or other) well into my seventies!

Depends on what you mean by issue. Florida does have black bears, but they commonly stick to the forested areas and are easily spottable in urban areas so that they can be returned home before they cause too much havoc. Snakes, gators, and venomous creatures are much more of an issue than bears. Most of Florida is marshland so even urban areas need open sources of water to keep the land stable and gators can hide absolutely anywhere. Even in the middle of a well populated suburb, always assume there is an alligator in the waters.
