I demoed this for about 10 minutes and bought it right away. Like a Tone King, I've always wanted an AC20, but I could never justify spending so much. Panning the AC20 and the PR12 to opposite sides sounds epic! Good job Neural DSP and thanks for the demo Mark. I always learn so much from watching you demo gear.
In your DAW make 2 tracks and put the plugin on both of them. Setup one to be the AC20 and the other to be the PR12, then pan them to opposite sides. Monitor both tracks so you can hear them both at the same time as you play. Sounds awesome!@@ProudFilthyCasual
Congrats on the artist presets! Your sounds are always incredible and the recognition is well-deserved!

Great review! :) I was never able to get a decent guitar sound using digital emulation. When I tried the Morgan Amps Suite, it really was a revelation to me. Neural DSP feels like you are playing an actual amp and not a software. So good!
The intro song was excellent as usual. That bass interlude was delightful. I’m a sucker for bass guitar played above the 12th feet. I know nothing about Morgan amps, but the plugin sounds really good. I think the Archetype Plini still has everything I need, especially with the new “X” update.
Pro tip; be patient and diligent. I bought a PR12 recently on the gear page for under a grand because the right opportunity arrived. This is very much the game as the user market slowly starts to soften back up; patience will pay off
@@markjohnstonofficial appreciate the heads up! Will keep a look out for sure. Currently have my eye on a Mark Tremonti-100. Hoping to get one in 2024!
Not only a great demo of the plugin, but also very informative overall as to how to shape the sound you wanna get. What a great guy as well! Thanks a bunch 🎉
Yaaaay! Great work Mark! Congratulations on getting such recognition from one of todays biggest companies in digital audio tool development. Also, after hearing this demo, i absolutely wish for this one!
I just bought this last night without demoing it because there was a half price sale. I was not as impressed at the out of the box tones. I have a lot of different software so it all sounded like something I already had. So, I had to not be lazy and actually tweak stuff. LOL. Watching your video really made me feel better about it.
Great demo. I kind of wish they would’ve put one of Morgan’s 2x12 half open back cabs. They sound huge. Oh well. Lol. I’ll just get an IR. I wonder if that Morgan od2 is based on a friedman be od pedal.
The PR12 is my favourite so far. Ive actually panned it against the soldano set with sbit of crunch. An SLO 100 and a princeton, wonder if that combo has made any rigs before now haha
From playing the trial, I think the Morgan sounds great as a standalone plug in, but if I want to use my 'real' pedalboard then the Tone King takes pedals in a more natural way.
Just be sure to get your PR12 checked to make sure it doesn’t have this issue or make absolutely sure you’re using filtered, in-spec power. Morgans are great sound-wise, but maybe some suspect build decisions. I had an SW50RC with an EV12L in it and loved it. Just trying to save you trouble down the road. ruclips.net/video/cjnFk-lZV9I/видео.htmlsi=DkkKzpu1t81Z2HAh
For the song at the start all tracks are recorded through a 1073 and processed with ProQ eq, la2a compressors, atr tape, an api2500 bus compressor Neve summing and my mastering chain. The sound samples is just the 1073 for setting input gain and my mastering chain (capitol compressor and atr master tape) and those basically serve to essentially try and keep the talking / samples up to the same level so the video isn’t way quieter than the song.
It’s so helpful to have someone who isn’t a noodlemaster demoing these plugins for us rhythm part writer folks.
I solemnly promise to never get that good at my instrument.
@@markjohnstonofficial lol you and me both, brother

I’m gonna use up the 14 day trial
Hoping for some holiday sales 🤣 I’ve already given neural DSP way too much money this year
Wait you can pan two different amps at once? whaaaaaaa?

This is the best sounding review of this I’ve seen. You made it sound the best.

I love your style. I love your reviews. Thank you! I’ve always wanted to own a Morgan but havent been able to afford one, so this is so perfect.

Oh shit also thank you. Thats super kind of you to say.

The intro was very Jade Puget in all the best ways. Loved it.
One of the two most influential guitarists on my playing. The best.
@@markjohnstonofficial Who is the other one? :)
In Jade's name we pray 🙏
Not only a great demo of the plugin, but also very informative overall as to how to shape the sound you wanna get.
What a great guy as well!
Thanks a bunch 🎉
Thanks for your review! Sounds very beautiful, warm and vintage.
Thank you man you really are helping me to be more in tune with guitar and express my self keep it up , blessings
Mark, this is the first product review of yours that I've seen. Great in depth look at this amp review. Thank you.
What a demo. Very nice job.
Hey, that was a great review sir. One of the best on the Morgan Amps plugin IMHO. Subscribed 💯
Your reviews rule. You’ve got the recipe ❤
Thank you!

Real Beautiful shooting Mark. congrats! sounds terrific too :-)

That reverb is quite lush.
Sounds good so far. Test will be how versatile it is from the rest of their plugin amps.
How do you mean? Just how versatile it is in its own right? Or how different it is from the rest of neural’s offerings?
Great demo. I kind of wish they would’ve put one of Morgan’s 2x12 half open back cabs. They sound huge. Oh well. Lol. I’ll just get an IR. I wonder if that Morgan od2 is based on a friedman be od pedal.

Another belter of an intro tune 😃
Thank you. Always my favorite part of this stuff.
I agree, this intro song really takes me back to my young adult days.
Loving it, can't wait to play with this plugin!

How would you compare this to the Mateus Astro Archetype?

Woah can you explain how you set up the virtual path routing to your DAW?
I got latency in the standalone version and it’s eating major cpu in my DAW. It sounds great though. Maybe it’s my usb hub
try adjusting the audio buffer size
Yeah I would second messing with your buffer size. I haven’t found any latency or cpu issues and my laptop isn’t particularly good.
If you’re on Windows, makes sure your not using the Windows Audio driver.
sounds good!
but it's not punching through like a real ac20 does.
good review, peace!
What drums were used for the opening song?
Mixwave Aaron Gillespie
Did you use any UA affects on the channel strip/s you record into? That sounded massive !!

So no.... yours ain't soundin the same lol!!!!!!
This one or the Tone king imperial dsp?
Wondering same thing
Thr Tone King sounds way better. I do not like this one
Is this a sponsored video ?
Sound like a cheap plugin - not nice
Lol
