Very Nice. How have you developed so much in-depth knowledge of Classical Ragas at such young age. Amazing ! Who is your guru ? My favourite songs of Salil da are may, but Na Jiya Lage Na is one of them.
salil da was a self taught musician.. he learned these ragas in his teenage all by his own and used to play these ragas with his flute.. flute and harmonium were the main instruments of salilda.. although he could also play piano and tabla... salil da infused western classical arrangement with indian ragas.. he designed beautiful chord progressions and counterpoints in his songs... once after he was humiliated by arranger anthony gonzalvez and his musicians over their dispute on orchestration, salilda bought books on western classical music, started to study them and with practice in two years he became master of orchestration and started arranging his own songs.. his all bengali song's lyrics are written by him and he was also one of the greatest background music composer ever born... he was expert in western classical, indian classical and numerous folk forms of music..salilda was a genius but was heavily underrated...
I love Salilda more than any other composers,and the way u explained the classical nature of his songs with love and respect is amazing.i can feel the sincerity in ur teaching,and u sing so nicely.God bless you.
