  • Today we are going to do a little how to replace the AC evaporator and heater core on a 1986 Chevrolet C10. This process may be different on a truck that did not have factory AC, or anything earlier than 1981-1991 . I'm not always the most descriptive person but this will give you the gist of pulling the heater box out, showing the usual broken vent door clip. I put a link at the bottom of the description for the one I got to replace the broken part. We are going to use as much of the factory designed AC system as we can. Only thing we are using on the LS is the compressor. Building two new lines from the compressor to the condenser as well as from the evaporator to the compressor, I will try to capture a video of how we are doing that when we get the LS installed.

Under dash always suck. I think GM just threw any bolts and screws they could find in everything for about 10-15 years lol.

lol I think they went with whatever was cheapest. It’s real frustrating. I don’t remember my 80’s Mustangs being like this.
