All because the pilot didn’t want to fuel up before takeoff. A selfish decision that cost lives. Nothing new.....

@@pauloliver1842 R E is correct. The pilot was co-owner of the airline and in an apparent effort to cut costs, neglected to fuel up before taking off.

That is just the top of the iceberg. This tragedy / crime was a product of several irregularities that allowed this garage airline to flight even Lio Messi, yes, Messi flew twice in the plane that crashed into that mountain the same year. This irregularities involved the "aero civil" authorities of 4 countries, the Bolivian government of Evo Morales and even the football organization of Conmebol. It was nasty and very sad the way it ended.

paul oliver well you can tell the wives, children, siblings and parents of the players that lost their lives to research again why their hearts were shattered. You can also tell the pilot’s family to do some research and shatter their hearts again. I read the Sports Illustrated article and it just broke me. I felt as if I was right there with them yet thousands of miles away powerless to show them how this affected me.
Your post shows me that you are incoherent when it comes to the loss of a loved one. But I wish you no ill will. Hatred and selfishness would just make me subhuman....
I am not built that way.
