Med student here with raging adhd. Amazing video these tools are seriously a game changer
When I study for long blocks of time (pomodoro for example) I put a piece of paper and a pen next to me so anytime I have a distracting thought or remember something that I want to do I jot it down. And then go back to work. This way I am not distracted by other tasks and those thoughts are no longer taking up brain space and I can address them afterwards.

Great idea, when I get say a concerning thought come up, I speak to it & promise 'well' deal with it later, it summer's down bcos I respectfully listened to it.... When the time comes up later, the concerned thought has simply calmed down & 'it's' issue has got over it 😊 usually works 100%

Before jumping into it, remember some supplements are best taken for a period of time, but not permanently. If anything, taper off for awhile and go back as Alpha GPC is linked to strokes and L-Tyrosine is not meant to be taken daily past a 3 month mark.

Great video. I've been taking L-Tyrosine for the last couple of months and it has made a difference with my focus. I am now experimenting with taking it at different times and with / without food. Instead of the 5 minutes "warm up" and especially if you are in an office, I'd create a little ritual: make a cup of coffee, clear the desk apart from a notepad and pen, maybe put some music on if you can. There's the 5 minutes there without looking "weird" 😉

I can attest to the L-Tyrosine! I've been using L-Tyrosine for years - first thing in the morning I pop a 500mg capsule with a cup of tea (caffeinated) - it all kicks within 20 minutes. I work from home and always put my running gear on first thing in the morning (I don't actively plan a run, I just gear up for one and wait for my mind to "tell" me when) then after about 1 hour after taking the L-Tyrosine and caffeinated tea I often feel a different kind of boost that just tells my brain "It's a good time to run" - I never ignore that trigger to take action, even if it I only run 1 mile (it's not the distance, it's the actual taking action and doing it that is important). There is no single solution magic pill, these are just some that work for me and as someone diagnosed with ADHD and Autism (who doesn't use ADHD meds) just these simple things have been a game changer. Last word: Meditation!

      @phil2768 Месяц назад +3

@@AustinSchrock if I take the L-Tyrosine about 9am, with the caffeinated tea, I'm usually going good for at least 3 hours. I've read that 500mg is quite a low dose, others take higher amounts, but I seem to be quite sensitive to both L-Tyrosine and caffeine - I avoid caffeinated coffee, too strong and gives me the jitters/irritability. I only drink a max of 2 cups of caffeinated tea a day. The first around 9am (when I start work) and I might have a 2nd cup about 2pm (with another 500mg L-Tyrosine) but never later than 3:30pm otherwise I noticed my mind is too active to sleep at bedtime. In between I drink decaf tea and water.
Edit: a positive side effect I also noticed. I used to often wake up groggy in the morning with a bit of a headache a couple times a week, this would sometimes end up turning into a bad headache or migraine but since I started with the L-Tyrosine and caffeinated tea they would clear up. I tested with them separately but it doesn't work, only when combined 🤷🏻‍♂️ so combining light caffeine and L-Tyrosine definitely is a winning combination (for me at least).

Studying physics were you visualize actual stuff happening in the world like a car skidding or a cannonball cutting in arc and finding things like coefficient of friction initial velocity final velocity average acceleration Newtons of force, that is exercising focus. That is pure weightlifting for the brain.
As far as pills and coffee and stuff as long as you feel calm and in homeostasis that's as good as your concentration gets.
If you want better concentration, you just got to practice and practice and practice. Physics on paper and also doing stuff in three dimensions building things in fixing things.
If you want to win at life, work as a maintenance man where you learn a bunch of trades at once and you'll have plenty of spare time so study physics and engineering and maths at your local community college for free or at least dirt cheap. Your employer might pay for it.
I studied physics first and then became a maintenance man. Often some old timer will give you a hard time and you just got to say well I'm grateful for you to teach me. If he keeps picking on you you just you got to tell the boss.
There's a lot of cleanup and moving equipment around work to do in addition to repairing things. I jump at every chance to do this kind of work because it's not like I'm doing it 8 hours a day. I'm learning how to do things so they mix it up for you. 1 minute you're taking the garbage out the next minute you're cutting a hole in the ceiling and pulling wire. Electrician skills.
I study physics on my own using openstax and I self teach myself calculus. I put in a lot of hours probably 2000 hours already. A couple hours every day for years now. I do pretty well at the community college because learning the stuff is my hobby.
That makes me better at my job. I'm constantly thinking about forces and acceleration add friction and wear and tear and electrical circuits.
So when they're teaching me something I understand it well. I can mathematically model what we're doing. I'm good at visualizing from doing physics problems.
When I apply to an engineering job, I have a background as a maintenance man so I'll be confident that I understand how buildings work how motors work.
It's really crazy that they don't tell all physicists to go be maintenance men and they don't offer free physics class to maintenance men.

The effect was instant; It makes you feel like you could resolve a mathematical problem in an instant without writing and you are so sharp that you are over analyzing everything you focus on ; However, one side effect It had on me was that it increased my Libido to incredible levels --- I was so goddam horny everything I took it. I even had sex after taking it and had one of the most amazing orgasm I've experienced while eyaculating.
