You're correct but it's only allowed to be used for non commercial purposes. They earn money directly by showing mods as their main content(ads), often don't give credits to the mod developers let alone collaborate, and promote this thing. In that sense, it's pretty much illegal.

Bhai can not agree more about the modding part, when I was a kid back in 2016-17 I used to watch lots of mod videos about different GTA 5 mods like iron mod, spiderman mod, etc and I used to think that it is a part of GTA 5. It was really disheartening to realize that all of this is fake when I actually got the game. It was so bad that I couldn't even bring myself to play the actual game that I bought. After actually playing the real GTA 5 story mode I came to know that it is much better than any mod I have ever seen. You are the first person I have seen talking about this and I completely agree with this.

gta online is grinding as well if dont have firends you can't play to complete heist and do other stuff,if you play solo all the mission will be hard to complete
Tbh the problem with gta online isn't really problem since you can go into an invite only session and do heists with your friends and at the end of the day you know you can't do heists with randoms also when your in a hiest it puts you in a solo server so yea you gotta know the ways and ye I'm not saying rockstar isn't at fault here since public lobbies are basically a no go if you wanna play without getting your experience ruined or ip leaked so yess my opinion
Agree and disagree on some things. Modding is illegal however, some companies are fine with modding and even give specific tools to help modders like Bethesda or CDPR. The problem is when you use a mod but make the audience believe that actually, this is just a part of the game because as you said, it creates false expectations on what the actual game is. This leads to good mods being shut down and mod creators get sued for no reason. I don't think it's unethical to tinker with something you own, I don't get sued for messing with my car. And Rockstar/other companies understand this but these RUclipsrs force their hand because they start getting pressure from investors/partners. All these youtubers have to do is to include a description at the beginning that this is a modded version. Also, you can't be sued for cheating in eSports. You can be banned but not sued because there's no laws for this kind of thing in eSports. You may remember the IBP scandal in CSGO. That got very swift action because match-fixing is illegal and has clauses that can incriminate valve for running an illegal system made for fradulent purposes or to mislead the users. GTA 5 is one of my favorite games as it was one of the first AAA title games that I discovered for PC, It introduced me to PC Gaming and I found out about other franchises, so GTA 5 holds a special place in my heart. I had to pirate GTA 5 since at that time I was quite young, maybe around 13, and parents wouldn't have agreed to spend money on a game. After it was free on Epic Games, I have been playing the original version only. I hate to see how these hackers/modders have ruined gta online experience, so much that I have to play online in an invite-only session. A multiplayer game alone 💀 (You also missed one point for GTA online, the Oppressor Mk.2 Griefers. They keep blowing up everyone in the whole lobby, especially those who are doing sell missions for their MC business. Destroying product worth 500k just to get 2k. I wish Oppressor mk.2 never happened in gta online.) Those "nakli gta" gayming youtubers, have absolutely ruined GTA 5's reputation by making those videos that you've mentioned. A real gamer enjoys the games. BBS was one of the rare ones who didn't milk gta 5 or other famous games, he tried out other unpopular games and even completed those games despite not getting high views. Gta online isn't completely dead, there's still a huge base of players that play regularly Modders are an issue, but if you've got enough friends, then just stick to 'invite only' lobbies or 'friends only' lobbies. I still find tons of players from India as well And Offline modding isn't a bad thing at all, cause modding actually keeps the game alive and fun to play, but obviously uploading the same to RUclips and misleading people to believe it's a part of the original is BS.
What worse is that my older brother (he's 17) actually watches those fake GTA mods and thinks that these are the real storyline and me being the younger brother and knowing more than him honestly puts me in absolute shame that i am in the same blood line as him. Also he plays GTA in real life he always acts gangster and even resorts to violence and threatening in real life he also still plays free fire. But i still love him no matter what because at the end of of the day it's just video games.

Indian streamers are the wrost there are good streamers as well but the ratio is 1:10, many streamer abusive and it affects in real world and ppl use same slang, I was a streamer and I was streaming multiple games such as cs/wow/valorant/ pubg pc but failed to gain audience as i do not abusive on stream, I was diamond 3 in valorant but noone was interested in gameplay , and no other big streamer was interested in collab as they wanted to collab only with girl steamer although few girls did not had skill's. I quit streaming a year ago and now i have started to develop own games. Indian streamers should play all types on games rather than sticking to one game, they are not real gamers. I have played games since 2005 and I would have played so many games that these streamers do not know it exsist.

Bhai can not agree more about the modding part, when I was a kid back in 2016-17 I used to watch lots of mod videos about different GTA 5 mods like iron mod, spiderman mod, etc and I used to think that it is a part of GTA 5. It was really disheartening to realize that all of this is fake when I actually got the game. It was so bad that I couldn't even bring myself to play the actual game that I bought. After actually playing the real GTA 5 story mode I came to know that it is much better than any mod I have ever seen. You are the first person I have seen talking about this and I completely agree with this.

Tbh the problem with gta online isn't really problem since you can go into an invite only session and do heists with your friends and at the end of the day you know you can't do heists with randoms also when your in a hiest it puts you in a solo server so yea you gotta know the ways and ye I'm not saying rockstar isn't at fault here since public lobbies are basically a no go if you wanna play without getting your experience ruined or ip leaked so yess my opinion

Agree and disagree on some things. Modding is illegal however, some companies are fine with modding and even give specific tools to help modders like Bethesda or CDPR. The problem is when you use a mod but make the audience believe that actually, this is just a part of the game because as you said, it creates false expectations on what the actual game is. This leads to good mods being shut down and mod creators get sued for no reason. I don't think it's unethical to tinker with something you own, I don't get sued for messing with my car. And Rockstar/other companies understand this but these RUclipsrs force their hand because they start getting pressure from investors/partners. All these youtubers have to do is to include a description at the beginning that this is a modded version. Also, you can't be sued for cheating in eSports. You can be banned but not sued because there's no laws for this kind of thing in eSports. You may remember the IBP scandal in CSGO. That got very swift action because match-fixing is illegal and has clauses that can incriminate valve for running an illegal system made for fradulent purposes or to mislead the users. Tho I agree with what you said about modding, let me also say this, if you own something digitally, its not completely yours, you can get banned even if you bought the stuff, i have seen many cases when many people buy games, and then get banned for just tinkering it for personal use, thats why i prefer physical over digital, but slowly, the gaming industry is going towards digital, which makes it harder for you to actually own something

GTA 5 is one of my favorite games as it was one of the first AAA title games that I discovered for PC,
It introduced me to PC Gaming and I found out about other franchises, so GTA 5 holds a special place in my heart.
I had to pirate GTA 5 since at that time I was quite young, maybe around 13, and parents wouldn't have agreed to spend money on a game.
After it was free on Epic Games, I have been playing the original version only.
I hate to see how these hackers/modders have ruined gta online experience, so much that I have to play online in an invite-only session. A multiplayer game alone 💀
(You also missed one point for GTA online, the Oppressor Mk.2 Griefers. They keep blowing up everyone in the whole lobby, especially those who are doing sell missions for their MC business. Destroying product worth 500k just to get 2k. I wish Oppressor mk.2 never happened in gta online.)

I explained to him that this is the real gta 5 and the things he saw in those videos are scripted. He had fun just exploring and killing people. It's even sad when you think that these kids call gta 5 the best game when they haven't even played the game themselves and don't know it's actual story. As you said, gamer plays a game and experiences its story(If it has one) not create their own story. They don't even play other games, only the ones that are popular and known by people. They just milk gta 5 not play it. They only want the views and i doubt they are even enjoying the game. A real gamer explores different games and completes a game even if he gets low views. A real gamer enjoys the games. BBS was one of the rare ones who didn't milk gta 5 or other famous games, he tried out other unpopular games and even completed those games despite not getting high views. He enjoyed those games and he also introduced his audience to a lot of good games that many people didn't know or talk about. Which is why he is respected and has a great and loyal fanbase. Modders are an issue, but if you've got enough friends, then just stick to 'invite only' lobbies or 'friends only' lobbies.
I still find tons of players from India as well
And Offline modding isn't a bad thing at all, cause modding actually keeps the game alive and fun to play, but obviously uploading the same to RUclips and misleading people to believe it's a part of the original is BS.
What worse is that my older brother (he's 17) actually watches those fake GTA mods and thinks that these are the real storyline and me being the younger brother and knowing more than him honestly puts me in absolute shame that i am in the same blood line as him. Also he plays GTA in real life he always acts gangster and even resorts to violence and threatening in real life he also still plays free fire. But i still love him no matter what because at the end of of the day it's just video games.

Indian streamers are the wrost there are good streamers as well but the ratio is 1:10, many streamer abusive and it affects in real world and ppl use same slang, I was a streamer and I was streaming multiple games such as cs/wow/valorant/ pubg pc but failed to gain audience as i do not abusive on stream, I was diamond 3 in valorant but noone was interested in gameplay , and no other big streamer was interested in collab as they wanted to collab only with girl steamer although few girls did not had skill's. I quit streaming a year ago and now i have started to develop own games. Indian streamers should play all types on games rather than sticking to one game, they are not real gamers. I have played games since 2005 and I would have played so many games that these streamers do not know it exsist.
