Totally subscribed to this. I have 3 c128 flats sitting in a pile like yours and all are Black screening. With c128's, The most notorius chips to go are the Kernel Rom chip....and the MMU chip... both Blackscreen... With the Kernel Roms being the most notorious to blow...just like the C64's PLA chip.. ;) - Tony K. - Commodore Collector/Restorer.

This screw in shield that is screwed to video chip heatsink is original.
