What you are doing in this video is mature and admirable, bro! Don't let anyone belittle you for doing so. You are seeing the bigger picture, knowing who you want to be, and doing what you need to, to get there. Kudos, buddy! You have my respect!
@@StickygooseI'm glad I caught this "apology" video before finding the other one. I watched the other one on my TV, which doesn't make commenting available, and was going to specifically troll that video to point out your errors in judgement, which you sort of addressed. As a former pawn shop purchaser, I instantly sided with the shop owner's for kicking you out for trying to "do business" with their customers. I'm not saying that either ship keeper actually realize the philosophy behind purchasing tactics, but buying and selling inside someone else's shop, where they don't receive a cut, is bad form. If you aren't paying the bills for the location, you don't have a right to do business with others in their shop. Similarly, poaching sellers from a shop is equally bad form. It's not uncommon to ask a shop keeper who shows "no interest" in someone looking to sell if they mind. I have really dug some of your videos, but I think this one has become my instant favorite. This kind of *genuine* self-reflection is incredibly rare these days, especially in the age of social media. Most people's instincts are to double down on their initial response to something. Major kudos to you for taking stock of the situation and thinking through how it comports with your values and how you want to be remembered. It's a skill all of us should practice more, myself included, the world would be better for it.
A lot of people don’t have an opportunity to visit comic shops due to various reasons. That’s very kind of you to take the time and share with your viewers. I want you to call out those stores and booths where poor customer service, bad attitudes and disrespectful owners are treating collectors that way. All their bad mouthing to the echo chambers on the CGC forums only shows everyone that you were right. While you may feel uncomfortable in some of your critical videos from the past, just remember: nobody is perfect but you are still a customer, and you deserved better than you got - dont back down on calling out their bull.
I liked both videos. It seems to me that it should be an even bigger opportunity for these comic shop owners or employees for self-reflection and reevaluation of how they are seen and how they run their businesses. There's a reason why "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons is a common meme. You are right that we don't all need to sink to that level, but at the same time, it's good to have a thick skin and realize that your tastes are your own. You shouldn't expect others to value what you value, but at the same time, don't feel a need to feel bad for what you like. To that end, I wouldn't say that you disrespected the guy by reacting when he belittled what you like. Props for taking ownership over your behavior, but be fair to yourself -- you didn't react in a vacuum.
Love the honesty. I watch videos and subscribe to honest, nice interactions. Some people will just have ego. Smart viewers can tell right away and don't need to see a dispute.
Perspective and Hindsight are wonderful things, always stay humble. As long as we learn from our mistakes moving forwards. Taking ownership is great and mature. Keep up the good content.
Being apologetic, but sometimes being real hurts feelings 😂. Ever since I started watching your channel , that’s what I appreciated most. You may not make videos about exposing these people anymore but always keep it 💯. Will you be at comic con NYC?
I think my biggest takeaway as an outsider on this fiasco is to be willing to walk away. I understand when you travel to places looking to buy/sell/trade, you don't want the effort to go to waste. However, I don't tend to conduct business with folks that show no respect to my efforts. I can be petty as hell, and given the right motivation I could have made the same kind of video response that you released initially. I would have wanted to flip the proverbial bird to those that antagonize me in that way. It sounds to me like your perspective has mellowed with the aid of reflection. Ultimately I believe you're moving on to bigger and better uses for your time than to be bothered by these events any further.
you didn't do anything wrong man. They kicked you out because you made the mistake of being a member of the community. You tried to trade and you got kicked out because these guys are shady business owners. When i clicked on the video i was like " if you get kicked out of two stores in one day it must be your fault" but you my friend are the exception. Love your channel, youre a great knowledgeable dude.
It’s deff a 50/50 situation sir as I originally commented on the mentioned video before. Mistakes were made on both sides which you did to your credit admit in the responding comments after. So your admitting this in a more constructive way with this video is good on you!
Hello Daniel, I recently had a beloved family member pass away as well, so I understand what you are trying to do, and who you are trying to be as a person. That being said, don't go backwards and start second guessing all your decisions, that leads to madness and frustration. When you post a review or critique, just be honest whether you're super upset, or calm as a clam. We all experience unfairness and it's not a bad thing to tell others about what happened.
You are human; you got angry, and you acted out of anger. It happens to all of us, sometimes. I think you have learned a very important life lesson in this case, suffering some shame and harsh criticism, but no real harm to yourself or your future. You have evaluated what you did wrong, and admitted your fault and your regret for your actions publicly, on the same platform you used to vent your rage. When your daughter is old enough, use these two videos to show her even grown ups mess up, but this is how grown ups are expected to take responsibility for their actions. Thank you for owning up. Keep up your great content. --- Denise
Fan of your work but i do have some confusion.... Is this an apology to the store owner? And also why diid it take 6 months to realise you did something wrong?or was it for the backlash you received from forums and comic comunity that made you realised you did something wrong? Not trying to bash just want to understant the video better
I applaud you for coming forth with an apology to your viewers. You shouldn't change who you are but learning from your mistakes can only make you better.
Trying to sell books in the shop was definitely a major error and appreciate you admitting it. The shop owner no matter how you perceived him or his shop the owner is trying to make a living with high overhead expenses and is providing a service to the collecting community even if didn't meet your expectations. The shop owner had every right to ask you to leave. I was a shop owner in 1980s and I would have told you to leave and conduct your business outside.
I'm not gonna judge! I haven't even watched the video and I'm pissed at the guy for disrespecting your books! You know those kind of people that ALWAYS just have to say something! Any businessman worth his salt would politely brush you off in hopes you show up another day with something better suited to his wants! Take care!
Don’t apologize… never apologize for fighting the man-buns of this world. They deserve no mercy…. All they deserve is the boot of Captain Strap-On..as well as the actual strap-on…..on his neck!!!
Get a grip dude.Stop being so hard on yourself. If the guy was a jerk then he's opened himself and his business to whatever comes. I'm sick of these shop owners pretending and acting like we need them when in reality, THEY NEED US! You didn't do anything wrong by having emotions. I'm a comic collector, record collector, toy collector, pop culture in general, and unfortunately i've dealt with snobby shop owners a time or two. They suck and they need to be told, or shown at some point. No one is going to watch that video and pin it to your "legacy". No one cares dude. It's just another video. I enjoyed it myself and was glad you expressed yourself.
Dear sticky goose, I have been watching and loving your content since you where upstairs in that blue room. you had JUST announced you where having a baby. I watch most of your content in my office which is not under sicko-tron FYI. Im excited that you are going to join us on comic journey! do me a favor and just put this behind you. the internet is FULL of people who just want that knee jerk reaction. come tell us stuff we don't know, let these guys get a taste of the sticky goose that I know and have been watching for so long. come join the insomniacs and be the sticky goose we know. everyone comes on and talks about the DRAMA!!!!!! OH THE DRAMA! its fucking 90210 up in this shit. F*** that Dawson's creek BS. I WANT MY STICKY GOOSE!
This was probably the first video I've watched all the way through, and honestly was expecting you to turn at the end say something totally contrary. The videos I've watched tend to lean on the negative side and I click off, just figured you were the Jerry springer of the comic book RUclips community. I respect a person who can admit being wrong, we all are human and screw up, doesn't hurt showing humility.
Wasnt expecting this video from you. I have to say, its pretty stand up of you to see your errors publicly and and choose to change them. I know what I said last week, and I wont remove the comment, but this was very big of you. I look forward in seeing where you go from here, whether it be a dumpster fire or a turn around. Good shit.
The guy disrespected you so it’s ok to disrespect him and leave. Business is business and as a comic book store he deciding not to sell and buy slabs is not good business
Daniel, I think you are being a little too hard on yourself. I would have been pissed too. You were venting and that is totally understandable. All good my man. You’re only human.
I'm going to be honest. That video was the first I watched of yours and I felt you were in the wrong. Since then, I've watched random videos here and there of yours and usually, I disagree with you. LOL. At least the videos I've watched. That said, I do believe you are truthful about your opinions and beliefs, which is important. You're open with your audience. So I commend you for that. I'm gonna subscribe now. But...I may be a voice of contention in your comments here and there. LOL. I'll be respectful, though. Also, I'm sorry for your recent loss.
@@Stickygoose the only thing you actually did wrong throughout all this is the selling in a shop. Everything else was spot on. I live in Roanoke and these two shops have moved locations countless times due to lack of income/support (basement due to the owner threatening people and being a genuinely bad dude.) Big lick and B and D are our two premier shops that everyone goes to.
I enjoy the content, the original video was entertaining at the very least, and the owner was rude for no reason. Your heart is definitely in the right place here. However, why not just take the video down? If you are truly concerned about how it lives on, the negative look to newcomers, or what defines you on social “diaries”, then the simple and effective answer is to take it down. Easy.
Good for you, I remember watching that video and intended to respond but must’ve gotten side tracked and forgot. It all boils down to respect, from the looks of that video it seems like you walked in with your camera already recording, which probably wasn’t the right approach to begin with. If you would’ve walked in and introduced yourself and asked the owner if it was okay to film in there, that gesture alone could’ve had the whole interaction go totally different. He may have been turned off by you before you even showed the books. Comic shops will low ball you anyways, they have to much overhead.
I considered unsubscribing to the channel as it seemed to be channeling a lot of negativity from the hobby. We can’t control other people’s bad behavior but we can control our own. Kiddos for this video and clearing things up. This is a fun hobby with mostly good people in it. You have a lot to offer and looking forward to some great content from you!
I don't think that video was any different from your other videos. I don't collect comics but I enjoy watching your videos because you ARE so snarky in them. Its funny. Out of the few comic RUclips videos I have seen, yours has an air of arrogance and elitism that is just funny to watch. I know that sounds negative or that im trolling. Im not. Its something different to the standard very happy positive personalities that also make comic videos.
Hey Daniel don't let those people that have their own stores blowing you out or put a negative vibe about you I think you're awesome man Have a great rest of the week regards Roger
Well, brother, I completely see why you got kicked out. Selling the same product in any store as they sell, or for that matter, selling anything at all at a retail outlet of any kind will and should get you booted. Then to make a video about it is just sheer hubris. You seem like a nice guy. Maybe you should do some anger management stuff.
@@Stickygoose honestly I had one of the worst cases of explosive anger that I have ever seen. What I did that helped the most was an antidepressant. Lexapro is what I take. I started about 10 years or more ago, and I'm a whole different person. I finally feel normal. The anger still happens, but it is manageable.
Hey my man. I have personally been critical of you. This type of sophisticated reflection is what I wish ALL human beings were capable of ascending to and developing. Unfortunately most never do. Huge respect for such a post. It’s a serious progression and self introspection by you. Bravo. Yeah, attempt at selling and buying at the other persons establishment? Not cool at all. Regardless of its actual harm. It’s just not the person anyone should want to be. The store owners? I personally would laugh at people like that. It’s quite daft for the store owner. For you with a channel? It’s content. Just go home. Think it out. Then present such to your audience minus your sins. That would be far more entertaining👍🏻 Well done. I don’t subscribe much anywhere. You now have one more subscriber.
Sorry for the late comment. I just discovered your channel and I've neem watching your back catalog. I just wanted to tell you not to beat yourself over what transpired in their comic book shop. The owner set the tone for the start, not you. He began acting disrespectfully, not you. During the entire video, you were only reacting to how he chose to treat you. I knew from the very beginning that he was not very bright. He obviously has a problem with people stealing from his shop, hence the rule about no backpacks. I think the rule is more from hids walking home from school. Anyway, he has a theft problem and he chooses to put the counter all the way at the back of the store. He should have the counter at the front where he can keep an eye on people when they leave the store. That's just dumb.
You come into a shop with a camera without asking permission first, sets the tone. He owned his mistakes the owner had a right to act that way after that.
SG I love your channel and I get you are sorry but it’s a little hard to believe totally when you have a video still posted of a fellow you tuber with a snake body. Are you a villian a reformed villian. A good guy or just an entertainer. I still love your channel but I am a bit confused. Jess.
See? Another disagreement! LOL! That wasn't a parable you referenced. That was something Jesus said and did, not just a story He told His disciples to get a point across.
Live and learn I say. Try to make friends with the people you screwed ower. Or at least appologize. Fun detail. When you go on your 'crybaby rant' with the comments on the screen I played the vid i n 50 % speed (still didnt manage to read much). It's hilarous. Sounds like you're completely drunk!
What's puzzling to me is you indicate that when you were in the store, you knew things had gone wrong and you shut the camera down, but notwithstanding after having time to go home, cool down and rethink things, you still edited and posted the video?! You basically doubled-down on a very bad hand! In any event, for me that video does not define you. You have made some fun and interesting videos for your channel.
I wasn't there so I didn't actually hear the conversation, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that he was indeed an a$$hole. When your ego got poked, you tried to sell product inside the man's business, and THAT was the BIG line you crossed, but it was the fatal flaw in your outrage. You've recognized your mistakes, you've owned up to them, now move on. As a viewer/sub, I don't feel you need to apologize to me. You had a human moment (OMG!!!) and it got caught on video. It's a learning moment for you and, hopefully, the dickweed shop owner. My opinion? Take the video down. Send an apology to the owner (if you haven't already) and be done with it. Either way, I'll continue to "stick" (get it? huh? lol) around and follow your channel. Chin UP, brother.
We all make mistakes and act out in ways that we look back and wish we could change. Thank you for the content you provide and I look forward to more 👍👍

at times remember we all make mistakes but we reflect on that past to get better and move along 👍
Thanks for the support
Your well come dude
Hello Daniel, I recently had a beloved family member pass away as well, so I understand what you are trying to do, and who you are trying to be as a person. That being said, don't go backwards and start second guessing all your decisions, that leads to madness and frustration. When you post a review or critique, just be honest whether you're super upset, or calm as a clam. We all experience unfairness and it's not a bad thing to tell others about what happened.
I’m not second guessing I know who I am, just reflecting on the decisions I’ve made
You are human; you got angry, and you acted out of anger. --- Denise
Thanks for watching Denise
Fan of your work but i do have some confusion....
Is this an apology to the store owner? And also why diid it take 6 months to realise you did something wrong?or was it for the backlash you received from forums and comic comunity that made you realised you did something wrong?
Not trying to bash just want to understant the video better
I’m not apologizing because that doesn’t do anything. I knew I screwed up immediately it was just time to make a response
nice interview with comic journey, peace bro, keep on doing what you're doing
It was a good time
I applaud you for coming forth with an apology to your viewers. You shouldn't change who you are but learning from your mistakes can only make you better.
Just trying to be better
Take care!
You should watch the original if you get a chance
I’m still going doing my thing nothings changing
Coming up quick I’m looking forward to it
This was probably the first video I've watched all the way through, and honestly was expecting you to turn at the end say something totally contrary. The videos I've watched tend to lean on the negative side and I click off, just figured you were the Jerry springer of the comic book RUclips community. I respect a person who can admit being wrong, we all are human and screw up, doesn't hurt showing humility.
Glad you watched it
Grab ya popcorn!
That’s my team that’s my quarterback
Yeah you did some wrong but so did the shop owner as well.
Points goes to you for owning up and understanding your wrong.
Good shit.
Probably dumpster fire
can you make reaction videos where you go into huge stores and ask them for the one comic they don't have?
That would be hilarious
The guy disrespected you so it’s ok to disrespect him and leave. Business is business and as a comic book store he deciding not to sell and buy slabs is not good business
I should have been the better man
Daniel, I think you are being a little too hard on yourself. I would have been pissed too. You were venting and that is totally understandable. All good my man. You’re only human.
Thank you for the support
PS I am so very sorry for your loss. 😢
Thank you
Didn’t you leave a negative Yelp review for that store too?
No just google review and it was very respectful
I'm going to be honest. That video was the first I watched of yours and I felt you were in the wrong. Since then, I've watched random videos here and there of yours and usually, I disagree with you. LOL. At least the videos I've watched. That said, I do believe you are truthful about your opinions and beliefs, which is important. You're open with your audience. So I commend you for that. I'm gonna subscribe now. But...I may be a voice of contention in your comments here and there. LOL. I'll be respectful, though.
Also, I'm sorry for your recent loss.
Welcome aboard
Sticky you rock dude. We all make mistakes
Appreciate you always watching rushman 666
@@Stickygoose the only thing you actually did wrong throughout all this is the selling in a shop. Everything else was spot on.
I live in Roanoke and these two shops have moved locations countless times due to lack of income/support (basement due to the owner threatening people and being a genuinely bad dude.) Big lick and B and D are our two premier shops that everyone goes to.
Where'd you get that shirt 👀
Ript apparel
well, I'll be a sumbitch....Love means never having to say you're sorry
Lmao
I enjoy the content, the original video was entertaining at the very least, and the owner was rude for no reason. Your heart is definitely in the right place here. However, why not just take the video down? If you are truly concerned about how it lives on, the negative look to newcomers, or what defines you on social “diaries”, then the simple and effective answer is to take it down. Easy.
I explained that in the video
Congrats on your daughter!
Thank you so much 😀
Good for you, I remember watching that video and intended to respond but must’ve gotten side tracked and forgot.
He absolutely was he judged me immediately you can see it happen in the video
I considered unsubscribing to the channel as it seemed to be channeling a lot of negativity from the hobby. We can’t control other people’s bad behavior but we can control our own. Kiddos for this video and clearing things up. This is a fun hobby with mostly good people in it. You have a lot to offer and looking forward to some great content from you!
Thanks for sticking with me
I don't think that video was any different from your other videos.
Nothings changing still going to be snarky
Hey Daniel don't let those people that have their own stores blowing you out or put a negative vibe about you I think you're awesome man Have a great rest of the week regards Roger
I appreciate that
I thought you were going to get out of single comics and only buy omnibus?
You know everything about me?
Ah f that. Never apologize if anything double down
Hahahaha
Well, brother, I completely see why you got kicked out. Selling the same product in any store as they sell, or for that matter, selling anything at all at a retail outlet of any kind will and should get you booted. Then to make a video about it is just sheer hubris. You seem like a nice guy. Maybe you should do some anger management stuff.
Will you help me
@@Stickygoose honestly I had one of the worst cases of explosive anger that I have ever seen.
You make me laugh….oh High Evolutionary
Welcome aboard high evolutionary
Whaaaaat, maybe sticky is not a piece of garbage after all 🤔 maybe lmao
You can’t trust something like this…watch another video or two then make a determination
If u you really meant that, you would take the original video down.
Thanks for standing with me your one of the few
You come into a shop with a camera without asking permission first, sets the tone. He owned his mistakes the owner had a right to act that way after that.
another goose video 🙌
More to come!
SG I love your channel and I get you are sorry but it’s a little hard to believe totally when you have a video still posted of a fellow you tuber with a snake body. Are you a villian a reformed villian. A good guy or just an entertainer. I still love your channel but I am a bit confused. Jess.
I stand by that video
@@Stickygoose ok man.still don’t agree But still love your channel
See? Another disagreement! LOL! That wasn't a parable you referenced. That was something Jesus said and did, not just a story He told His disciples to get a point across.
Hahaha
Your beating yourself up for nothing we are all human .
Just reflecting
This must be the end of this channel as it was.
Nothing is changing
Thanks for sticking with me
Yet, that video still remains up?
I addressed that in this video
Thanks for “sticking” with me
By the way....your RUclips channel doesn't have enough power to hurt anyone. Sorry.
I am obviously affecting you… I live in your head.
Here we go
It’s like a car wreck can’t help but look
@@Stickygoose Hindsight is 20/20 ..your human and to be honest with you. I would have probably reacted the same way too. Still a fan !!
We all make mistakes and act out in ways that we look back and wish we could change. Thank you for the content you provide and I look forward to more 👍👍
More to come
