    No it is not wind damage. It’s high nailing

      Nope. Called not nailing correctly. Especially with a pitch like that.
      Those are probably the less expensive shingles with the really thin double laminated zone. Shingles come in two parts, top half and the bottom. Top half has little teeth and the bottom is a rectangle shape the full width of the shingle but only half the height. You have to nail in the common bond area to hit both parts, otherwise the shingles will drop like that.
      You also have to use more nails per shingle on steeps. 4 won't cut it, have to use one or two more nails especially if you're in a heavy wind area then you should be doing 6
