This sounds great ! What Dawg tune are you playing ? I need to do an A/B Test with my current mandolin.

Right at the beginning I’m playing the Tony Rice song “Manzanita”. Then “Brilliancy Medley”, Sam’s break for “Old Train”, “The Lochs of Dread” from The Telluride Session, “Old Gray Coat” (Tony Rice), “Strum” or something like that - a ringtone everybody used to have, “Bananas” and “Ozzie & Max”(Sam Bush), “Comealong Brown Dog” (my tune), “Itzbin Real” by John Reischman.

Congratulations on the new mando! Yep. Tom builds a great mando. Part of the beauty and advantage of the Bill James tailpiece is that no string damping is required. You can loose the rubber, Nate! I promise there'll be no overtones from there without them.

It's a great mando! Unfortunately, it's not mine, but I did get to borrow it for 24 hours, and that was really cool. Regarding the grommets, the tone I like requires the strings to be damped halfway between the bridge and tailpiece. I am a big fan of the James tailpiece though, and I have one on the Wonderbat. They make string changes so easy and they look great. - Nate

Great sounding Mando! I like how he did the “Florida” cut off… Looks better with that little bit of a kick out toward the bottom. Looks better than the straight cut off I’ve seen on others. Classy!

Hey Gabriel! Just saw this. I agree, the Florida looks really good. This is an outstanding mando and I'm hoping to play it again sometime and make another video. - Nate
