Do you ever ask yourself what would have happened if the computer models were right with their more outlandish predictions? The 2020 What-might-have-been Atlantic Hurricane Season Animation is the next in our yearly series which shows you what might have been if those models got it right! Despite how outlandish some of the storms and hurricanes in this video may seem, real computer models, forecasted all of these at one point in time! Fortunately, most did not actually come to fruition, but this video depicts what could have been if those models were somehow correct.

2020 WMHB: Hold my Omega
Yeah I remember that animation. And I thought that one was crazy. This one blows the 2042 hypothetical season out of the water. I think 2042 ended at Pi if I remember correctly.
@@ErikCB912 yeah
Ah, classic GFS
COTI: *How about a 220 MPH storm?*
Everyone’s expectations are way too high - the wmhb and irl situations were switched this year lol
Not quite. At one point, the models were predicting a storm the size of Sandy to bash into Florida as a major hurricane.
Incorrect. We know that the conventional alphabet was exhausted at irl Laura.
W h a t
For reference the above comment was made before the premier but wow was it wrong lol
Did this take into account possible Fujiwhara interactions between two storms? If two powerful hurricanes were close together like in this hypothetical, they would start orbiting each other
The models dont really care about fujiwara effect
Is no one gonna talk about Teddy which directly absorbed Wilfred? 5:27
I noticed that!
I wonder what storms will be the equivalents of Laura, Sally, and Teddy.
I just hope we don't get another storm before this releases (Kappa, like Zeta in 2005).
Imagine Laura is a hypercane. Jk.
there was a model that predicted delta to have 210 mph
@Pierre Jopon That's the one!
6:52 There would be some serious fujiwhara effects going on here
Edit: WTF There would be nothing standing in New Orleans
Season Epilogue:
After the 2020 hurricane season, the United States government formally banned all hurricanes from hitting their coast, and built a gigantic wall along the entire shoreline in order to keep out all of the illegal water. However, this proved futile when the 2021 hurricane season ended up bringing 4 additional Category 5's that tag-teamed the entire Atlantic Coast simultaneously, destroying most of the big, beautiful wall.
In addition, 2020's season ended up being so awful for the Gulf Coast that the residents of the city of New Orleans were willfully relocated to Mars, in order to avoid any more hurricanes in the future. Greta Thunberg later toured the destroyed New Orleans remnants and finally proved her point about Climate Change, but then screamed "how dare you!" to a destroyed oil rig and then went home whining without accomplishing anything else.
The National Hurricane Center also was awestruck by the season, and decided to make the hurricane names cooler in the future, in an attempt to convey a stronger message to people. New storm names such as Warhawk, Deathforce, Apex, and SeaDragon were used starting in 2021, but the new names became nothing more than meme fuel for Reddit, and people actually ended up taking hurricanes less seriously, because of the newfound pop-culture fame.
Less crazier then the 2099 Hypothetical season animation, which I can only use one word to describe: *NUTS*
.....And I thought that the "What Might Have Been" series was bad enough. I was so, so wrong. This puts even the most active Pacific Typhoon Season in real history to absolute shame. That's all I can say about this one.
Mine would’ve actually been worse than this...
