PC Sync Port won't work when another flash or studio lighting is connected to Yongnuo YN-565EX- how come? It will work on all Nikon SB flashes that have PC Sync Port.
As a user of the Yongnuo yn565ex I can tell you that it works with the Canon EOS 40D and the Canon 580 ex as the master. The YN 565ex will not work with the Canon ST-E2 on a Canon 40D. The Canon ST-E2 will trigger the YN565ex, but no useful light output will be produced, just a pre-flash. You are just going to have to buy the Yongnou ST-E2. Other than that problem, the Yougnuo is a good flash and compatible with a Canon camera and 580 ex and ex II.
@mvcory100 HI, I'm just curious, you mentioned that this flash "works as a master".. Could you elaborate a little on that, I'm a little confused on what that means.. I'm under the impression that if the flash mounts on to the camera it would make it a Master, I'm missing something..
The Yung Nuo YN565EX cannot be used as a master flash when connected to a Canon DSLR; it can only be used as a slave. That means that a Canon 580 EX flash when connected to a Canon DSLR can fire and receive exposure information from a Youg Nuo YN565 EX when the Yong Nuo is used as a slave flash just like the Canon 430 EX flash.
Don't waste your money on it add a little more and get the canon I did a mistake and bought 2 off they I was shooting a weeding and one overheat it and the other one had hot shoe they are niece build quality but performance of them sucks

Are you sure that the 565 it's compatible with the iTTL for Nikon? I think it's compatible only with ETTL for Canon!
