I cannot comprehend why the Israeli Air Force is hiding these beautiful machines. It should be flouting them instead! On Independence Day, they flew a quartet of A-6 Texan doing the usual, boring formation flying, and the Lavie-2 were hardly seen at all. If the IDF/AF were not the cheapskates they are, they would do the Independence Day "smokewinder" antics with the M-346, and we taxpayers would be delighted! A-6s? Meh!
Israel uses these to train pilots, using them even just once a year for a display show would mean having to take them away months before for repainting, rehearsals etc which would impede the normal pilot pipeline. Using the old A-6 is much much cheaper.
