Lucy sings it from the woman's perspective, which reaches to your heart. It is smooth and clear. Even when she reaches for the higher and projected portions of the song, she is clear and understandable. She is always clear as a bell. Love it.
Its funny that when I first heard this performance from Lucy I was completely bowled over. But this was nearly two years ago when she was 17. Now, although it still sounds impressive, her voice has improved quite noticeably since then that I would love to hear how she would sing it now.
WOW another perfect performance from Lucy. One of the few artist's than can make a cover sound better than the original , her tone and clarity are superb and her ability to sing into the camera has become one of her special talents. Lucy doesn't need flashing lights or complicated back drops , just her beautiful voice , stunning looks and those lovely eyes. Good job Lucy
Fun fact. I went to school in Yonkers, NY, with Steven Tyler (same grade) but he was expelled before graduation. I was in a band then too, but unfortunately (or fortunately) not his band. Anyway, Lucy is so good that she only competes with herself.
Hello Anothercoverlover, you are now starting to 'get it': Lucy Thomas is the best solo performer I have ever heard or seen and I'm stickin' to it! Yes, when you have vocal coaches saying, "I love hearing Lucy, always perfect vocals".......yeah, she IS the real deal! This is Lucy singing rock 'professionally', with her theater power and perfect control, absolutely incredible! My vote is for........well, hell, unless I've recently suffered some severe head trauma............the one and only...........Miss Lucy Thomas!
Being an Aerosmith fan I still like their version very much. I am not a Lucy Thomas fan. I am a Lucy Thomas supporter. Lucy can sing anything and make it sound like a billion dollars. So my vote is for Lucy. Thanks Jeff for the great reaction. Stay well and safe.
cnotes, seanotes the same guy made a very good suggestion here, thanks buddy. I've been waiting for this comparison. The original is excellent and on my playlist seems like forever. Lucy does this tune wonders." my pick " Does this girl ever breath? She in my eyes and ears is as perfect as it can get. I don't think she will ever be a rocker, add a rasp, or slur the vowels jazz style. Vocal distortion is just not her style. She has worked many years to be on key every note, clear perfect grammar, precise vibrato, and perfect timing to change now. I think ballads and musical theater is her forte. Don't fix something that's perfect. You also asked for suggestion be sent to anothercoverlover16 I and I'm sure others put some there also. If you lost them let me know and I will flood anothercoverlover. Another great show Jeff, keep on it brother🤠
Enjoyed both performances, i like the backing music on aerosmith but i think as original it hits differently but in my opinion Lucy conveys the emotion of the words better. Nice comparison.
In complete contrast to Lucy's 'power' cover, which I LOVE and consider better than Aerosmith's, you should check out Irish singer, Janet Devlin's 'soft' acoustic cover of, _'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing'_ with just a simple piano accompaniment. It is gorgeous! *_R_* 😎
I did enjoy them both. Each brings a little bit to the song. Some songs make you think more a different times. Me and my wife will be married 30 years in a couple weeks. I think this could still fit my feelings. Ok , so on your therapy don’t know what it’s for or nothing, but do it because it helps so much. My shoulder was replaced about 3 months ago and we just made it out kayaking on one of our favorite lakes. I even was able to shoot my bow several weeks back. I did not figure I’d be doing anything this summer. When I had my other shoulder replaced it was over 4 years. Well there a rabbit trail there. Take care and prayers 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Jeff and Jeff!😎 I’m a Thomasea, pun intended. I have recently added another phenomenal female singer to my list. The list is Lucy Thomas, Davina Michelle, and Putri Ariani. She got the golden buzzer on AGT from Simon Cowell. She is 17, from Indonesia and she is blind. She plays the piano and sings. Her AGT audition will bring a few tears and her Lady Gaga cover of I’ll Never Love Again will too. Check her out. Davina has a new original song called I’m Dating the Devil. Keep the music coming!👍❤️
Aerosmith is not one of my favourite song. The comparison between these artist, the Original song is great, but male vocalist artist. Lucy perform this song with new meaning of uniquiness. So, I chose Lucy version of this song. She have perfect pitch, the vibrato vocals is amazing. Thanks for the reaction.
Morissette Amon also has several RUclips videos of this song. None of them are "Studio" recordings ... and some are not of the best audio quality. But otherwise, nobody can touch the way that Morisette connects emotionally with a song, let alone that have the stellar vocal capabilities that she possesses. Truly one of the best voices (worldwide) today.
Jeff! Stop changing clothes all the time, it confuses me! 🤣 Nahh, I know what happened, your first recording got blocked because you used the original Aerosmith music video, and then you replaced that part with a lyric video. Pretty smart, Jeff! Anyway, Aerosmith are a great band! I saw them live in Brussels during their Pump Tour on Oct 25, 1989, and it was fabulous! This is a very sweet love song and I like both renditions very much, but, of course the singers sound very different, and Lucy Thomas wasn't trying to copy the original, which I give her credit for. I did miss the conviction that Steven Tyler put in his song when listening to Lucy, but that's probably just due to her style. I think Morgan James might have done a terrific version too, had she gotten the opportunity. Oh and you forgot to add '16' at the end of that email address of yours! Loved the reaction! Stay healthy, my friend! ~Mike H.
Lucy has a great “Disney” voice. Unfortunately she’s lipsyncing, which means the audio could have been edited or auto tuned. For raw gritty sound, give me Aerosmith any day.
I know this girl's voice seems to good to be true. Here is a three song live set from a small fundraiser. There are more recordings done a this event with other performers that show more of the conditions, including a duet she does with another singer. Note the crap mic. poor video. I don't see a high dollar production crew being used for a then 15 year old unknown. You tell me ? ruclips.net/video/Cojuyy8bjpg/видео.html The first song She Used To Be Mine is also on her website as a studio recording. Yes they add the standard reverb, and I'm sure they clean up some noise but both are very similar to me. I actually prefer the live version with the minor flaws.🤠
@@johncollins392 she’s definitely lipsyncing (adlibing) in this rendition. Just watch the video in full screen. Unfortunately it’s common practice among singers to do so. I’d rather hear the flaws in a live recording. At 3:28 in her video when she hits the high note you can clearly see it.
Any singer, any band will do a studio recording and lip sync for the video to create a perfect production, nothing wrong with that and Aerosmith would do the same for an official video. Listen to any Lucy live recording and there are plenty her voice is the same perfection, so no auto tune - when someone has perfect pitch it is not needed.
Give me Lucy and then more Lucy. I just love her. So pure and precise. Such a talent. World Class.

Love it that older songs still are performed by younger artists!! Good music never dies🎶🎤💜
Lucy Thomas, that was sensational. You can sing anything.
