30年ほど前のことです。オオタサンのVHSのビデオを観ながらウクレレの練習をしていました。ウクレレは今もありますが弾くことはなくなりました。また、ブルーハワイを練習したいなと64歳になった私です。
Herb Ohtaさんのウクレレ演奏を聴いていると、こんな頼りない楽器からしっかりした音楽が生み出されてくるのが奇跡のような冗談のような感じで、そのギャップにとても嬉しくなってしまいます。ハワイのゆったりした時間が流れているようで、とても美しい。
ウクレレの良いところを聴けますねすばらしい。

30年ぐらい前は年に4回くらいハワイに旅行して、着いたら真っ先にするのはクイーンカピオラニホテルのota-sanのディナーショーを聴きに行く事だった。週に2回ぐらい出演していたかな？一緒に写真を撮って貰った事もあるよ。ハワイで最高のディナーショーだった。

昔から「ハーバート・オオタ」とでしか記憶に無かったのですが、現在は、ハーブ・サンさんなのですね、どうして名前が変わったんでしょう？ 昔オーケストラバック演奏と一緒に赤いテントの曲「ワレルヤの恋」を演奏してたのが非常に印象深く残っています。またUp出来ましたら嬉しい限りです。
