He must have been a good rider to push Pat Hennen to second spot. You're right there's nothing quite like the sound of a older TZ motor at full chat. Thanks for your comment.
I had a TZ 350 on the streets. The log book said it was a RD 250LC. Completely illegal obviously. It was geared more for the street. It took me a while to be able to pull off without stalling. I swapped it with a friend. What a mistake. I wish I had kept it, as he smashed it and wrote it off within a month.
what is the 0-100kph time for one of these? ive been telling people they can do like 3 or 3.5 sec. Is that accurate? And for top speed, am I right in saying they are capable of attaining 160mph or more? Seeing as 125cc GP can hit 139mph and 250cc GP can do 145+mph. Thanks
No really sure about the 0-100kph but probably about right. Top speed is probably similar to the 250's its very dependant on the circuit, you do need a long straight to get one above 140mph. Somewhere like the TT whereyou keep it on full gas for a long time you may well get over 150mph.
@@MikeSpikeEdwards Too bad - he might use lock tite now then :) Thanks a lot for the good vids without go pro fish eye optical - Have tried a lot to blip the throttle when going down the gears - Cant get the hang of it - do you use one finger on the brake ? I end up almost crashing - You are a total pro on it
You don't need to open the throttle much, only a small opening is enough. The timing of the clutch & throttle is the tough bit to get right to start with. However when you master it it will help enormously helping keep the bike stable under extreme braking.
My brother Pat Evans raced a Don Vesco TZ350 to an AMA national win over Pat Hennen in 73' Ontario Junior race. Love the piston port sound.

The Spike hes a Legend
What a performance - Poor guy who went down in the stressed situation - He was doing real fine -
He had a mechanical issue, the rear shock reservoir detached and fell between the swing arm and the wheel.

@@MikeSpikeEdwards Thanks my man - I will try - but as you say - its tough ..
Did the gearing change from race 1? needed a smaller rear, that poor engine had so much more speed to give..
Its the same - take a look at 6th - its a perfect gearing for that tiny thing
Sweet music
nice safe on 6.12 min
14:12 What a highside :O
Never exceeded 67 km/h.
on the manometer shows the temperature and not the speed :)
@@jlsmario no shit sherlock
ENGINE SATURATION WITH LOW POWER FROM 10500 RPM´S, RISK OF INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE WHEN REQUESTING HIGHER SPEED
It is in the ballpoint of piston meter traveling / sec
an extra gear would have been nice
Every turn had the perfect gearing - and the 6th was perfect for that track - there is a limit on everything..
