- Today you join me at Teamsport Leeds where we take part in the BIKC regional finals after coming 3rd in the local finals at Teamsport Leicester!

Hey guys, I know I don't usually do this but if you did like the video a like or/and a comment would be really appreciated! I worked hard on this video and the positivity would be appreciated after being shafted so hard by kart diff 😅
Back when I won BIKC Heavys a few years ago it was 3 heats with different starting positions. This gave you a good shot at doing well as long as your race craft was up to it, even if your kart was crap. This current format is why I would probably never bother with BIKC again, your video sums up the biggest flaw perfectly.
Sadly all of the future BIKC races are going to be the exact same thing unless they change the rules. Literally a lucky dip to have the chance to win, pretty sad.
You drove amazing tho, so don't let a terrible format get you down. Good stuff!
Having 3 different start positions in heats just makes so much more sense, it'll test both race craft and speed.... I still don't understand why one qualifying session determines both heat positions, it just doesn't make sense 😂
It is such a shame how it's based on pure luck as well as skill... But if that's how TeamSport feel is the fairest way to run this competition then we can't do anything about it 🤦

The video was great but you were both super unlucky😢 That qualifying was a killer but what a great drive in heat 1! Really showed how far you've come over the last 2 years. Definitely feeling your frustration though after fighting back to get to the final only to get shafted again that's tough to take but congrats to you both. Must be due some good luck soon!
Thanks dude! Yeah I'm still shocked that qualy determines your position for two heats instead of just one... Would of made a much bigger impact if I started 5th in heat 2 😅 hahaha hopefully some mega luck soon 😅😅
Hey Robbie, you drive some excellent races. Your first heat was awesome! Some great overtakes from you throughout. Shame about the kart diff, it's certainly a lottery!
I raced in Lightweights. Hannah did great! I was the kart who went round the outside at turn 1 at the start. Nice racing between us through the esses, which shows you can race cleanly there if enough room and respect is given (definitely giving a sideways glance to some of the non-Notts lightweights who were awful in sporting terms). The guy who was taken out under the bridge of death... Was me! No respect shown from some of those others.
There is a major flaw with the red flag procedure. If you lose a position, just make sure you cause a big enough crash on the same lap to warrant a red flag... You'll get your position back and won't get a penalty for dangerous driving (as confirmed by the clerk of the course!)

Thanks Matt, some brilliant driving from yourself when I was watching the lightweights, just a shame you had some unfortunate incidents, you certainly had Warrington pace!
The track at Leeds is really good for racing, plenty of places for nice and clean battles to happen, but as you say when the respect is given...
Yeah that red flag procedure is definitely flawed, I said this multiple times on the day to some of the other racers that you could just go for a silly move and if it fails it'll just be re started anyway 😂 just a shame hannahs spin wasn't red flagged which was an odd one... There's just a lot about BIKC that's very flawed, one being the qualifying 😂😂
Well done Robbie, great effort! At least Leeds offers some opportunity to make up places!

The divebombs in the final hairpin of the final were a bit late! Surprised they didnt even get a warning for it! 😯

Thanks dude! Yeah thankfully there's a good few overtaking spots at Leeds so I could take advantage when I could, heat 1 definitely has to be one of my best drives I've done 😅
Yeah me either.... The Marshalls were probably just fed up of being there all day at that point and just wanted to go home 😂

I was there Thursday night, Kart 12 was horrible for me and the lad I went with. Kart 6 was sweet as a nut for me!
great driving in the heats Robbie, was really entertaining to watch and see you fight back to the positions where you deserved to be. Of course your situation was incredibly unlucky but hopefully the frustration has faded a bit since ; onto bigger and better things!!

Honestly I have not done Teamsport tracks that much due to poor driving standards. At Docklands someone rear ended me at full speed in the pitlane and another person was stamping the throttle when getting out the kart in the pitlane causing me to nearly get run over. And at Eastleigh it was clean, but the karts hated the track surface a lot. So, I am very unlikely to enter a Teamsport-owned championship myself, but it's interesting to see what plays out of what it is usually mayhem!
Awesome video dude, decided to comment on this one because it's at Leeds. Yesterday (3rd Nov) me and my dad were in the same session as you. Really enjoyed the race, simply forgot to ask if you had socials, but here I am found you anyways. Awesome footage!

I managed to get 4th without even making an overtake...
I think the format could be better, at the moment qualifying matters so much. I think it would be good if the starting positions for the 2nd heat were the finishing positions from the first heat.
Another thing is that I dont think the 2 groups of heats were balanced, pretty sure all the quicker drivers were put into the first heat.

Yeah I 100% agree, either last positions or do it from fastest laps in heat 1, would make qualy much less of a very important round... As like here you get a bad kart you're pretty much already finished 😂
Yeah I don't understand why there's a group where ALL the local champions were in it, how is that balanced? I would of been 6/7th if I was in the second group and would of had a much better time fighting up the grid.... But oh well, how would we know how to run a championship 😂

Yeah everyones weighed before qualy then you're randomly weighed throughout the evening either before or after a session
Ever done whilton mill karting? They do an event every Tuesday called carnatter, it's like a car meet with karting, really recommend it
@@cocacolaholic yeah I've done Whilton a few times tbf, never been to one of the car natter evenings but always keep meaning to go... I should probably go to the next one and check it out 😅

Yeah the karts are so inconsistent at leeds unfortunately. My issue is how they can hold these events but not have them all fully worked on and tested before running the events to make sure all karts are close. I know there's no way of making them identical but atleast within .4/5 of a second to make it atleast somewhat fair
Well it states in the regulations that the karts will be tested before the competition... But they clearly haven't at all so I can't understand why they're making this championship a big deal but completely ignoring their own regulations 😂
@@RBRacing55 it's why I don't even try mate. It's my local but I've noticed that the quickest karts in the field are always to the side in case a regular elite member wants to jump on. I complained multiple times about a couple of karts and was told that the karts were warming up (it was 7pm 😅) I came again a week later and was given the same kart. Even worse than before so I pulled off after 2 laps told them I wasn't carrying on with the kart. The manager did refund my session but just listen to the feedback and there wouldn't be an issue. The final is going to be entertaining with the electric karts. I feel it's really taken the racing backwards and the participation will drop next year

well done mate I raced in juniors bike and finished 5th after starting 13th I think and in the pre final went from 11th to 4th or 3rd and it was also carnage such a big battle and there was a crash where driver fell out of the kart lol. finished 5th like I said and could've finished higher if not this one guy who turns into you every corner and robbed me from a podium. anyway well done mate and better luck next time

Bit late to the party here, the move at 23:40 even though was bad some of the moves in the first race done by you were also on the same level. No hate just a what goes around comes around kind of situation
I would have gone home ngl after 2 laps of quali, this is bikc at its finest, championship run by bunch of people that cant even go around the track without hitting the wall

Kart 2 was taken out because of a puncture not because of performance
Still wasn't the best performing kart by some way though, maybe because it was cold or not but still felt rubbish in the final 🤷

Yeah we were saying this too, you could go for the most silly moves and if it doesn't pay off you'll just be put back into your original position 😂
ahh mate you've been robbed big time with that kart you had in quali. rules say that all karts should be max 4 tenths apart from any other kart and to be gapped like that in an event like this isnt on.
Just rentals for you isn't it... But like you say you'd imagine at such a "big" championship like this you'd think the karts they had in the pool were much closer than what they were...
