I’ve seen in a few videos where the free hand clenches and unclenches (for lack of better words). What’s that all about? Never spearfished and curious.

I just do it to create movement to make the fish more curious, grunting, tapping your gun and flicking your rubbers sometimes helps also. Some people say it has no effect but if the fish is out of range anyway it can’t hurt to try a few things to get it to come and take a look at you.
