I you want a real treat, get your hands on a DVD of one of his concerts...he puts on a really fantastic show! The entire audience gets into it and it's a joy to watch! Terrific reaction, thank you!
Garth puts on a great show, even though he stole some of his high energy live show ideas from Chis LeDoux, there was even an interview where he admitted it
The Dance. I lost my dad 23 years ago this month when I was 16. The very last time I danced with him was to The Dance. He took his life just a few weeks later. Looking back there was a reason he chose that song. It's a beautiful song!
I'm sorry 😞 for your loss! I became disabled in 2003 from a workplace injury, and have had my own struggles with what I call the darkness. Sometimes you spend too much time fighting not to die, and forget to live...God bless 🙏 you and yours...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇲🤠
Garth fuzed country and rock together in the early 90s and his concerts of him running all over and flying from the air....is what ppl fell in love with him:)
In the words of Brian Williams (LOL), but with actual truth ----- I was there! At one point he was on these huge speakers and was told to get down, and well, Garths rebel surely showed then lol He's by far won it all in stage performance, for sure.
@@jasongilbert2379 that is very true as well he was coming out when i was a kid in the late 80s early 90s he was kinda responsible for rockabilly explosion in the 00s
Garth was part of my childhood. That whole golden era with Reba, George, Randy, Vince, etc. I listened exclusively to country until I was like 14 (1996).
@HollaAtKrazy this song was actually written by Billy Joel. However, Garth Brooks gives homage through his career, stating Billy Joel is one of his biggest inspirations and Billy Joel gave respect back by stating Garth Brooks made this song something he never could have himself and inviting him to several concerts to duo this one song with him.
Thank you so much for sharing Garth and your reactions. I wonder sometimes who I'd throw onto my bucket list and for a good 20 yrs now, I choose Garth.
Garth Friend In Low Places has a 3rd vers. And The Thunder Rolls has an extra verse. Garth songs- The Dance, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Unanswered Prayers, Much To Young, Standing Outside the Fire, Ain't Going Down, Calling Baton Rough, Rodeo, More Than a Memory, What She's Doing Now, We Shall Be Free, To Make You Feel My Love, Two Pina Coladas, The River, She's Every Woman, The Beaches of Cheyenne, The Summer, Wrapped Up in You, The Fever, When You Come Back to Me Again, Two of a Kind Working on a Full House, Learning to Live Again, Longneck Bottle, Changes, Thicker Than Blood,
Actually, there was an awards show where he performed this and at the end, it ended like this one but Garth fell to his knees and the lights went out. That was truly amazing!! I prefer his live version over studio, at least for Shameless.
Simply my favorite ever. When you listened to " If Tomorrow Never Comes" you made my week. Favorite love song of all time. Thanks for taking the time to find the actual performance NOT covers. 💋💋💋
I know this comment was 7 months ago, but when he said who was the artist from the night before with a chainsaw... I thought Jackyl as well, but I can't find it in his videos or by searching his name & Jackyl or The Lumberjack. So if anyone sees this & knows what video he was talking about... I'd appreciate a reply :)
My understanding is that Billy Joel wrote it during a bitter divorce from his first wife and Garth remade it during a peaceful divorce from his first wife. It's a song about a man who leaves his wife for another woman, in Garth's case, he left and married Trisha Yearwood,
It’s so funny seeing these 1990 awards shows! He was brand new and I know he felt obligated to put on these “scenes”. But if you could only see the man he is today, and the way he performs these songs today it would blow you away. The only way you might could see it though would be through someone’s phone video of concert. (That might get you in trouble though, lol) The Garth Brooks FB page has recent casual videos.
I just wanted to add another comment. I just watched this video again, and if you pause it right after Garth finishes the song, as they pan across the audience, the first two people you see in the crowd are the first Pres George Bush and First Lady Barbara. I thought that was pretty cool.
Seen him in concert in the late 90's , absolutely the best concert I've been to. This was before him and Trish announce that they were a couple . I told my wife at that concert they was doing the nasty . She said I was crazy😜I said okay 🤔
LOL this is not written by him. It's Billy Joel. But yeah, Garth has the definitive version. Same as with To Make You Feel My Love. His is the version you think of, but it's a Bob Dylan song, also recorded by Billy Joel and Adele. And yes, he's a songwriter--in ALL the hall of fames and won the Gershwin Prize earlier this year. Garth Brooks is the GOAT.
I am WAY late to this comment section but you'd be remiss to not hear this song done in his live version from the 1991 This Is Garth Brooks tv special. The last verse has so much vocal power for a country song (also they dont mess up the guitar solo right before that verse lol). All the songs on that are honestly probably his best live recordings of those songs.
The thunder rolls is actually not a cover. It's Garths song. I believe that that song was shopped around the business for a while and several other artists passed on it before he claimed it. Shameless however is a cover version. Shameless is not Garth Brooks. Shameless is Billy Joel and Garth does an excellent cover of it that became more famous and well known and more successful than the original version Billy Joel did but shameless is a Billy Joel song that Garth made more famous than the original because he kills it when he sings it. If you've never seen the Central Park performance of shameless from the New York Central Park concert that version of shameless is still my favorite. He gets into it, sings the hell out of it and crushes it. Fantastic performance and best version I've seen, the one you watched in the video I think might be second best. Also if you have been enjoying some Garth Brooks there is currently a fantastic documentary about his life and career that you can find on netflix. Just search his name on Netflix and you should find it easy enough. It's a recent documentary that was done about his life and career. It's like 2 hour and a half movies. It's a two-part documentary. Amazing documentary. If you like the guys music you might enjoy that.
I am loving your reactions; I was 13 in 1994. I saw the videos to these on CMT (Country Music Television) back then. You must check out "New Way to Fly."
You're in luck, my friend. Garth is still recording. His newest song is one we really need in the current climate. It's called "We Belong to Each Other"
Who was the chainsaw solo? Lol I missed yesterday. My granddaughter I hadn't seen in 8yrs came over😊 But my first initial thought was Jackyl-Lumberjack, so I looked through ur vids and obviously it wasn't but hey....now that you brought it up you should😂
Well now I have to suggest a week of Billy Joel! Garth Brooks did a great cover, maybe better than the original, but Billy Joel is responsible for those lyrics you loved. Only problem is that there's so much to choose from you might have to do more than one week! 😂
I you want a real treat, get your hands on a DVD of one of his concerts...he puts on a really fantastic show! The entire audience gets into it and it's a joy to watch!

Garth puts on a great show, even though he stole some of his high energy live show ideas from Chis LeDoux, there was even an interview where he admitted it
I dont k ow that he's stealing it from Chris LeDeux. Is emulating a hero really stealing? Even when you become the bigger star.
Lol I had a case of DVDs of him preforming his hits in concert and I love his music but I swear he was high as a kite on that stage 🥴🤣🤣
That box set he had with the stories behind the music was awesome.
Watched him recently in Baton Rouge at LSU stadium. Amazing!!!
Unanswered prayers I think it should be saved for a finale if you were able to find it because the crowd is always amazing for that song.
Yes 😍
I hope you hit "The River", and "The Dance" this week.
Please react to the Dance.
Yes to both of those

I've seen Garth in concert and he is WAY better live than on digital. He truly is an amazing perforner
Billy Joel wrote this. It was a minor hit for him, but Garth took it off the charts.
It became a minor hit after Garth released it.
When Garth recorded it, Billy Joel hadn't released it as a single.
I had know idea Billy Joel wrote this.
Exactly Billy Joel AKA our Shakespeare
Garth was part of my childhood. That whole golden era with Reba, George, Randy, Vince, etc. I listened exclusively to country until I was like 14 (1996).
Thats his number 1 requested song at all his concerts!
I’m not sure you can find this song live but even if it isn’t live you need to hear it. It’s called “rodeo” by Garth Brooks
Can’t believe I forgot
“If tomorrow never comes”
MANDATORY MANDATORY MANDATORY
NO LIE SIR, PROMISE 🤝☝️☝️
The chainsaw Solo "Jackyl" The Lumberjack great group great song!
Maybe more people would be falling in love if they would listen to stuff like this. Garth never disappoints. Good reaction.
garth is still touring and making new music. Fun is coming out in November, he is still kicking ass.

Saw the ropin the wind tour. Spring ‘92. OKC. That album was the one that made me a fan. His live stuff is SO damn GOOD.
His reactions are the absolute best.
Chris Gaines is his alter ego. Checkout a song called 'It Don't Matter to the Sun'
This whole concert in Texas stadium was fire it was awesome and crazy
Garth Friend In Low Places has a 3rd vers. And The Thunder Rolls has an extra verse.
Garth songs- The Dance, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Unanswered Prayers, Much To Young, Standing Outside the Fire,
Ain't Going Down, Calling Baton Rough, Rodeo, More Than a Memory, What She's Doing Now, We Shall Be Free, To Make You Feel My Love, Two Pina Coladas, The River, She's Every Woman, The Beaches of Cheyenne,
The Summer, Wrapped Up in You,
The Fever, When You Come Back to Me Again, Two of a Kind Working on a Full House, Learning to Live Again, Longneck Bottle, Changes, Thicker Than Blood,
We’re listening, we know what he’s saying. His concerts are amazing but EXPENSIVE and worth it too.
He is a hell of a showman. "Ain't going down until the sun comes up" is a good one to see the quality of the musicians that are in his band.
Surprised and pleased you found this available. I was 28 when Garth did this and being 57 now this song still plays hugely in how I see my wife.
I absolutely love this song, hubby and I use to dance to it.
Garth is an entertainer and a darn good one at that

Only country concert I've ever been to an the security guard had to keep telling me get off my chair! It was absolutely amazing!💯

You should really listen to eithe In Lonesome Dove or Cowboy Bill they’re two amazing story songs from Garth and some of his best in my opinion
The first song was "Friends in Low Places" not "Friends in a Low Place"
He puts on a great live show, I saw him back in the 90’s and it was awesome.
I saw him 3 nights in a row even he came to Jackson. MS. HE IS GREAT IN CONCERT!!!!
I feel so fortunate to be a teen in the late 80s early 90s.... we got the best of every genre of music!

The GOAT of country
