I went to burnside elementary and pastor high, my baby bro went to Marvin and ci. anica elementary . Apple st, ridgeley streets where no joke.
Brah it sounds like it was a good neighborhood and they had a good financial foundation... but they were obsessed with being gangsters. We be fucking our own stuff up.
Exactly. These Guys,Marvins,Playboys and Venice Shoreline had NO PURPOSE or VAIN
MISSION to be a Crip or Blood other than Following a TREND.
Bingo
@@worldizmine3186 yeah it goes like that bro ..I say it all the time negative shyt will spread in are community like wild fire..also the crack era brought out a lot of crazy shyt in every black neighborhoods all over the country..I've seen dudes that had father and mother both professionals grew up in big house's college bound end up doing life in the feds for drugs or just warring on the streets ..

This was a cool pt 1 of this interview! I'm kinda of lost on who influenced the Geer Gang to become Crips?
@Truth Heals Communities wrong Marvin came after geer.
@Truth Heals Communities appreciate the response bro.I was surprised that the brotha who lived in the Marvin's didn't represent Marvin. I thought a lot of brothas who stayed in a specific neighborhood/section whether Crip or Blood usually gravitate, to the neighborhood/section they already live in?
Hmm... I'm thinking God Father's or West Blvd
nobody. im from there, it was some squares that just followed the WB and Marvins who moved from the 30s cause parents wasnt having it. no wonder 18st won, Geer had no history, just hustlers and even i knew that back then.
I thought Marvin’s came before Geers? In 77’?
Good gang History
Westblvd, Marvin, pbg and school yards. Never heard of Geer until 1985. I didn't gang bang, but my brother is Crazy mike(Michael Thompson)Westblvd crip

I know everybody is laughing but what grown men over 50, or over 60 want to climb over a fence? Not me and my camera equipment. I’m gone! ✌🏽
Before 1978 they did have A Godfather presence over there & a crew called Paradise Crips before GG
I respect Kevmac get down. Every interview fills in, confirms or dispels information given by another interview. This builds up the picture and Bank of truthful history. It also shows the research behind the videos and who to speak to about what. Respect Kevmac and Team getdown. This season West LA history been impeccabel. So when the West B, Marvin, Mansfield and SYC segments come up, we maniacs know what to reference to.
Always dope to see history on the less known sets. I'm from the east coast so I'm generally only familiar with the sets that have been mainstream/popularized.

What about when hispanics attempt or form gangs in a area with an already established BLACK Gang for years. Do you think that is right.
@@butchjones1486 name an area then we can debate
@@211em First a question: If a established hispanic gang that began in say the 1950's starts a click today in an already established BLACK GANG'S territory.
Is that a:
1. A new gang because of the recent establishment of the click
2. Or is the click considered old and established based on the history of the original gang?
I'm just trying to understand the mindset from which you are approaching this subject.
To answer your question: In the interview it was mentioned the 18's had established or attempting to establish a click the Marvin's, or Mansfield's.
@@butchjones1486 18st have always lived and kicked it at or around the Marvin area , no one tried to establish a click in Mansfield hood that whoever said it is full of shit. I’ll give u an example the bloods had no problem with guys from 18st kicking it up in the jungles but when 18st decided to sale dope that when the bloods had the problem! That there is a problem , let me give u another example when shorelines had issues in the west side they migrated to Geer area and had no problems with 18. 18st has always had a presence in west adams and in the west side from Queen Anne park by LA high to McManus park , rancho park smiley drive and Alsace. Let me enlighten u some more at one point in time 18 had a spot off adams and Cochran and the geers were right next door with no problem but this was before they war. Also don’t forget the midtown area that was once longwood but became rimpau. And later 10th Ave near the 30’s.
