Awesome lol, I was able to break my intercept record in a 229 EF-5 a few days ago lol, this update has definitely changed how the tornadoes work a bit but you can still get some exciting stuff here and there
ive had two real EF5s in 1.21, but the thing about 1.21 is you have dumbasses rating everything that moves EF5, because the game lets them. It might be just me but that frustrates me.
A lot of people seem to do that. I've been playing before the damage stuff was added, so I've had time to learn and identify DI's, and the game even sets it up for you by selecting the correct one. I've had 2 EF5's by my own, but if theres like an EF4 200 house that someone says as "EF5 220" i don't count it as real unless there is proof of ef5 damage
I remember when they didnt even have the damage assessment tool, honestly I liked it more than being able to rate EF2 damage EF4. I honestly found it kinda adorable when I saw someone get all excited seeing an LB slabbed and thinking they saw their first EF5, and they also seemed a lot more open to correction. A few days ago someone got hella pissed at me because I said it was EF3 damage and they said it was EF5, and that it was okay to rate it like that since the game let them.
@@jmstudios457 I really didn't understand stuff like that when I first played back in 2021, I was a dumb child wanting to get unbored, and here was Twisted, I remember in December I had my first EF5, it completely destroyed Chandler and Hiram and the Sneed power plant. It was so much simpler back then.
I think I played for the first time maybe spring or summer 2021, I was kind of in a lull, I played once or twice, but was put off by the grind. I came back in Fall 2021, bought a white Outback, and got graced with a two day high, the first producing a 287 mph hazel slabber, the second a 335 mph multivortex monster that genuinely scared the shit out of me(still the second strongest tornado I've ever seen), although it destroyed tenkiller and welchenville. Lines of TIV 2s each with 2-4 people would line up in front of the thing, throw down probes and prepare to sacrifice themselves to the gods of science. Plus another 250+ wedge hit the west side of hazel, and we had maybe 5-10 people getting spawnkilled at a time. When the sun rose, I was genuinely in awe at what I just witnessed. I don't remember if it was a marginal after that or another high, but no storms formed the day after, and everyone left. I just drove around and looked at the damage, took some pictures. Sadly those are on my old laptop which died in 2022, I have yet to try to recover the drive. That single day reignited my enthusiasm for meteorology in and took it in an entirely new direction. needless to say, I was hooked.
@@jmstudios457 Those strong tornadoes bring me so much good times. I had an absolute monster somewhere around November/December of 2021, and I still have the original video with no audio. I was apart of a chase team back then. The tornado picked me up from atleast half a mile away from the funnel, and had peak winds of 254 miles per hour. The strongest tornado that I've seen back then had to be this tornado with 288 mile per hour windspeeds. It was likely 300 at one point, but that was in 1.17, which was beaten by my 1.20 299 tornado. Awesome game with plenty of memorable tornadoes, and it just goes to show, this game has really good replayability.
7:56 You got the Pete treatment on that one: you were so high up lol

TIV 2 2008 or TIV 2 2009?
