- Take a look around the new "Boris Bus", the hop-on, hop-off routemaster style bus being introduced to London in 2012.
LBC 97.3 reporter Declan Harvey spoke to the Mayor as the very first bus rolled off the production line in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

I love how excited he was about tread master. I think it's a nice touch. When people think of England/ London they think tradition.
FINALLY! A politician that stood by his pre-election pledges.First delivering the Boris bikes and now a bus properly designed perfectly London streets. Crony Ken's bendies never worked, a lot was made of their capacity BUT forced ppl to stand like cattle. The Boris bus has MORE seating available, the flexibility to be 1 or 2 man operated AND fast loading & unloading. It's built in UK so creates jobs here and has world beating fuel economy & emissions. BORIS, YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!

What makes me laugh about the bus industry figures and heads is that they love the aspect of the vehicle but treat the passengers, their customer base, badly, and the drivers. It’s not just aesthetics it’s a working environment. It’s like DJs hating the crowds but love to play to them.

The old routemaster was the best. They should have built more of them with new engines.
The only problem with the old Routemasters buses is that they do not have Wheelchair access for people with disabillty, i think these new Routemasters is iconic, Alot of thought and hard work has gone into this new model to keep this bus to keep it similar to the old design, i think it look great, you can still see the old routemasters traveling around Trafalgar Square.

BLOODY AWFUL BUS. BAD DESIGN. PASSENGERS NEEDS TO BE RISK ASSESSED TO RIDE IT DUE TO BAD SUSPENSION AND BREAKING. CRAP LOWER DECK SEATING. DOORS ARE TOO SLOW. BODYWORKS ARE NOW DEFACED WITH SCRATCHED, DREADFUL DANGEROUS STAIRCASES.
@Me New Routemaster Bus was a total waste of money, outdated by electric and hydrogen types, best place BoJo’s was in the scapyards.
These things are awful. The air conditioning on them either doesn't exist or work and you can't open the windows. I've been on this many times over this summer and it's always been ridiculously hot. Absolute waste of money.
Oh and Boris Johnson doesn't know how to use an oyster card. He tried to swipe it at Liverpool Street station.
