- This started as "The Butcher is the sweetest villain ever" compilation but I ended up having more fun putting all his breakdowns and crying sessions as of season 4 together. His behaviors are very clearly influenced by his (in my eyes abusive) father; Constantly apologizing, quick to cry or grow defensive, overly self conscious, need for approval, the list goes on. Kid Potato can go die thx ^^
Anyway this was a spring meme fandom, but I wanted to actually revisit the show at my own pace. Now that I'm on season 4 I have picked a favorite in the villain battlegrounds.

Here's how I think the creation of Butcher's character came to be.
"Okay, so she's Wordgirl so guess she's got to have a word-themed nemesis, I guess? What about... the Butcher? Like, he butchers words so Wordgirl always has to correct him."
"Okay, that's good. I hear you. But what if he was also like... an actual butcher?"
"...PERFECT."
“And what if… he shoots meat out of his hands.”
“…promotion.”
...oooooh, so that's why he's a butcher...
The puns… I’m starting to understand how much words affect the Wordgirl world…
has anyone ever thought about the fact that the Butcher and Kid Potato could probably single-handedly solve world hunger?
Add the Baker and you got yourself a full course dinner, lunch, and breakfast, depending on the combo.

Cool to see some love for the Butcher around here. He was always one of the ones I remember most distinctly from the show (mostly because he was always so sad lol)

Plus, his super power is very unique.
The Butcher is my FAVORITE character in the entire Wordgirl franchise. Mainly because of how dumb he is, his meat powers, and that he probably has the best relationship with Wordgirl aside from 2Brains. My personal favorite Butcher episodes are High Fat Robbery(where they discovered Tofu is Butcher’s weakness), Jerky Jerk(where he used a magic beef jerky necklace and bacon earrings to reach the peak of his powers), Meat My Dad(where we met his dad Kid Potato), and the Meaty Dimension(where we discovered where all of Butcher’s meat came from).

The butcher's lore is insane, you resurfaced so many memories of old episodes out of my head that it's astounding that I can recall that much
I really liked Jerky Jerk. It has some pretty interesting lore regarding Butchermesh, who pretty clearly looks like he could be the Butcher's ancient ancestor.

If you think Kid Potato is a terrible Dad, just look at Victoria Best’s parents

Yeah fr they're the real villains in that situation, and I feel like Victoria could be a better person otherwise. Same with Eileen, her mom is the one who told her everyday is her birthday.
Victoria Best is basically Pacifica Northwest with Mabel Pine's voice.
Sadly enough, they'd probably brag about themselves being the best examples of bad parents.
We've seen Butch conjure all sorts of materials, all kinds of meat, oils, and even wood. He could be an unstoppable force of nature who can manipulate any organic material but instead chooses to throw food at a little girl.

"get" would imply getting some sort of object but "gets" implies understanding/knowledge of a specific area
For example, you wouldn't "gets" a new car, and you wouldn't "get" him to learn new words
Although I guess it's a case by case scenario cause saying "He gets" or "Get him" would still be grammatically correct so I guess it depends on the usage of the pronoun

Dang, that's a great point.
Pretty sure you're thinking of vegans, they don't eat meat and any byproducts from the animals because they think it's cruel - though I suppose some people become vegetarians for the same reason too.

Good people and the system in my opinion at its core is flawed
Only reasons I say that is that the conditions are needlessly cruel, inefficient, and takes way more resources to produce a small end product.
When more can be achieved by plants and supplements and other methods
But all to all, carnivores need meat I agree with that
As for us who are omnivores
Sure meat is really good but now we have the technology to replicate that in play form
And we all need more greens in our diets anyways

Yup yup, the mass production of meat leads to incredibly inhumane conditions. I know the animals are bred to be food, but their entire existence is just hellish.
I'm still omnivorous, but I absolutely support vegans and vegetarians.

The thing I find funny with the butcher and his dad is that they could stop robbing banks and make a father and son restaurant called meat and potatoes and just rank in the dough.

Kid potato isn’t a good parent because he doesn’t see the potential he and his son could have he raised his son to be a villan if you really think about it being a villan got the butcher nothing every time he steals all that happens is he goes to jail and gets out and does the same think over again the butcher could just open a butchers shop it would always be full of meat and the best part is he could says he’s 100 percent environmentally friendly and animal cruelty free since he makes the meat appear no animals were harmed at all he’d probably be the most popular butchers shop in town if not much more instead he wastes his powers on committing crimes that get him nowhere

Again, why is he a villain again? He could open a butcher shop, be a butcher, and even open a meat-based restaurant too, he seems very nice in general, sure he can take some extra lessons to learn more words, but he can get there, even do hobbies, he doesn't need to pay for the meat either, it would easily be a successful business...
I feel like he's a villain because he wants to appear tough, and because it runs in his family.
Technically his meat is vegan if you think about it. It comes from his pocket dimension that grows meat without killing anything meaning it’s just the same as a farm except in this case it’s meat without murder and any cruelty to animals
