      I use ABL2 & ABL3, to get different acid sounds. Arturia 's Acid V is really good as well to get classic or trancey. D16's Phoscyon 2 is awesome as well. Each one of these go from classic acid to unusual but they have their own character.

    When downloading the free VB-303, Acid Devil or Bass Matrix, don't expect perfect usability. The top four commercially available TB-303 VST emulations - Audio Realism's ABL3, D16's Phoscyon 2, Roland's cloud TB-303 and Arturia's Acid V - are actually super easy to program. Way easier than the original TB-303, where the difficult UI is known to "blame for" those "happy accidents" we all love. When looking at the best clones, only the Behringer TD-3 is actually hard to program, and this is because it replicates the TB-303s sequencer.

    • @timmjohannesbrockmann9530
      @timmjohannesbrockmann9530 7 месяцев назад

      I also have Audio Realism ABL3, but I like programming an authentic 303-style machine more. I own the Cyclone TT-303, which I find more fun to program than the ABL3. Type in notes, type in accent, slides. Then type in the timing. The results are different from programming a more conventional, linear approach possible in the ABL3 - which I find is the strong point of a 303-style programming.

    To be fair the Roland 303 is pretty easy to replicate and did it in 2007, using Reason, I used a Subtractor synth, a patern sequencer, and two band EQ as the filter, Scream 4 distortion thats about it, saved it as Single device. As for Rease bass well Reasons got plenty of crazy Rease bass presets.

    The #TB03 ? For real? I have one, but it completely lacks the tone and feel of the original #TB303 ... which I also have, as the TB-3 and TD-3, too. They're all nice instruments in their own, but a real 303 is a real 303 and except the RE-303, nothing comes close tbh.

    • @Engineeer
      @Engineeer 7 месяцев назад +2

      Have you tried the Abstrakt instruments Avalon? That's the closest clone I have in my collection. It's like the RE-303 with some extra stuff.
      Every TB-303 sounds somehow different, and the different clones reflect this, also. So, you won't find many clones which sound exactly like your TB-303, as you won't find other TB-303s which sound like yours.
      Anyways, every one of these clones sound way closer than those awful 303 sound design patches made in multi purpose synths from clueless (or shameless?) RUclips instructors.
      In terms of closeness after the RE-303 comes the Avalon. Then X0xb0x (depending who built it), TD-3, TB-3, TB03 and TT-303. Those are the ones which can be recommended to those, who want to make legit 303 Acid, imho. Of course, those who invested in an original TB-303s and speculate on reselling them at astronomical prices, always disagree. No synth will ever be good enough for those folks.
      It's funny that he shows the TB-03 while talking about that they bought an original TB-303, right?
