Early in the 20th century, Sagua La Grande and it’s port Isabela de Sagua were prosperous. The main economic activities were sugar production, cattle raising and fishing. Nowadays, fishing still takes place but not in a large scale.
The distance from Santa Clara to Isabela De Sagua is about one hour. If you enjoy seafood, you will really enjoy what the restaurants have to offer.
