Gåte is just amazing, fantastic power end energy. The voice from Mother Earth! ❤️ Beautiful Gunnhild - this is what Eurovision (the world) needs right now! 12 points 🥇
I know it's early still but this honestly gives me Eurovision winner vibes! This is so incredible and already polished for the contest! Her voice sends me into a trance and I'm so glad this won MGP 🇳🇴🫶
Gåte is litterally the BEST thing that has happend this year in the eurovision world! As a swede, I am sooo sooo happy that our nordic melodies finally gets represented as they should be more often! Also, I would like to note that one specific country in the international jury made gåte win, because there was 6 points between Gåte and Keiino after the full results had been announced, and this international country gave gåte 12 points and keiino 6. They could’ve changed EVERYTHING! The countr I’m reffering to is Czechia 🇨🇿! Thank you so much for giving europe the oppertunity to show the nordic culture for once!❤️🇳🇴🇸🇪
I am so shocked by how good this revamped version is. The story is that this song originally had pretty much retells a medieval ballad word-for-word but NRK didn’t allow that so they had to rewrite it really fast and they ended up making it as good as it was originally. I love the lyrics and how dark they are, this entry is so unique for ESC and Norway, I love how it uses Norse mythology, it sounds incredible and epic, her vocals are incredible, the staging is incredible, I love that it is in Norwegian and I could 100% see this winning. I will definitely listen to this a lot as this is totally my vibe and I absolutely adore this. It will easily qualify and I could easily see this winning. Fantastic entry from Norway. 10/10.
This has been my unquestionable #1 since the first time I heard it. I especially love that Gåte didn’t do anything to "be more Eurovision", they just sound like themselves, this is what they've always been doing, and that authenticity really comes through. If you like this, I highly recommend checking them out in full album length, there's a lot more to love beyond this one song.
As much as I'm sad that Keiino has lost, Gåte was my second favorite of the show. It's very atmospheric and powerful. I guess that it'll finish high - there won't be anything like this song. I wouldn't use that much flashlights if if were up to me, but it'll definitely be an epic performance in Malmö.
The last time Norway sent an entry in Norwegian was in 2006, with "Alvedansen". This MGP also had the closest winning margin since the 70s! KEiiNO got a total of 244 points, 98 from the juries and 146 from the tele, while Gåte got 250 points, 76 from the juries and 174 from the tele!
Hi😊 Two years ago when my country sent Tix(Fallen Angel) it was originally song in norwegian. Called Ut Av Mørket. But Tix wanted to sing it in english instead, or make a english version, and sing it in english. Not sure exactly the reason. It was after he won in the finale that this happened. To change it to english. The originally version is better in my opinion. Search Ut Av Mørket, and hear the norwegian version.
@@Nomade2801 I am from Norway too, I remember TIX. However, the winning song of MGP 2021 was Fallen Angel - not Ut av Mørket. TIX sang in Norwegian in the MGP semis, and translated the song between the semis and the final. In the final he sang Fallen Angel - thus making the winning song of MGP 2021 in English, not Norwegian ;)
Gåte = Riddle, Ulveham = Wolf skinwalker. And the instrument is a nøkkelharpe (Key harp), it’s Norwegian/Swedish. It’s a 1000 year old tale. The song is about a girl who was cursed by her stepmother to live in the forest as a wolf. One day she sees her stepmother in the woods and eats her, and she was pregnant, so as she drinks her brother’s blood, the curse is lifted. «Never would I be whole and well, until I got to drink my by brother’s blood».
@@larserikertzgaardringen7426exactly. they're from trøndelag so if they do win esc than it only majes sense for trondheim not to mention oslos already hosted 3 times
I loved that you sang to it! Some people say they can't figure out the melody, but I think the song is beautiful. And powerful. Hopefully the winning performance will also be posted on RUclips; that was fantastic! And some say Gunnhild can't sing; I guess the singing-technique she is using is quite strange, but she masters it perfectly.
Last time we participated with a song in Norwegian was in 2006 (Alvedansen), so it was about time. Also about time the Norwegian voters got it right. DAMN - this one is such a magical and powerful trip ♥
Haha thanks! If you really do like my voice, you could check out my music on Spotify! I released an album last week called "beneath the threshold" and have an old album called "this is the end of the game as we know it"
Pay attention to the rest of the band...sure Gunnhild is the main singer, but the rest of the band is not just sitting dormant the entire time. It's Gåte after all...not Gunnhild with Gåte Case in point...did you here the backup vocals or notice the guitar in the air?
The song is based on a 1000 year old folklore telling the tale of an evil stepmother who turns her stepdaughter into various items like a needle, sword and horse, for all the people in the kingdom to use. When the stepmother finds out that the people like her she turns her into a wolf and curses her to wander the forrest alone. The only way to break the spell is to drink her brothers blood. One day the wolf finds the stepmother in the forrest and eats her heart, the stepmother was pregnant, therefore she drank her brothers blood and broke the spell. The instrument is called a Nøkkelharpe, key harp. A traditional music instrument. Gunhild also uses "kulokk", in some elements. Which is how the maidens used to call the cows back in the mountains. Thank you for a great review!
Yoooo, this is fire!🔥 PUT IT OUT! Seriously so sad that this won. First i lost krick and now miia, erika and keiino. I can already tell this is becoming this year’s cha cha cha. A song everyone raves about but I can’t stand.
I am Norwegian and this is the reason to watch Eurovision and MGP bcoz of Gåte. Those screams are the breaking free from the evil stepmother that causing the pain and suffering. Once you understand the song and the lyrics it gives two more dimensions
Ye, makes sense that some wil only hers screams. I love folk music, but it can sound bad to people that are not jused to folk music from other countries. Gåte is one of the best live preformes from Norway, and that they wil be singing on erovison is the best

Finally the best representative for Norway, go Gåte!!!!
They have to win!!🥇 🇳🇴
Epic!❤ Always great to see your reactions, so fun🙌❤
THIS IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!
Norway gave 12 points to this song in MGP. Now its Europes turn to give 12 points to this song in ESC Malmø. Good luck GÅTE med ULVEHAM.
Last time Norway won eurovision was in 2009 with Rybak- Fairytale, which also had a lot of norwegian elements in it. 😊
Wow! That is just an insane performance. Honestly the best i heard so far!
Hell yea!!! 🙌 Voted so much for them, so excited when they won, jumped up and down in the sofa with my family and screaming 😂
Thank you Jude, amazing reaction as always by you ❤

saying Gunnhild can't sing is just baffling to me. her vocals are absolutely PHENOMENAL
Some people just don't understand the technique and consider it off tune simply by not being typical belching

luckily im already subscribed, cuz i would not want to be covered in ulveham 😂 BUT YEAA NORWAY HAS MY VOTE ❤ love from finland.
Hahahahaha love that 🤣
outstanding
Mr. Kennedy seems to have a very nice voice indeed. He should perform this song in ESC himself. Absolutely Fabulous! 😎🖤👍

Hey Jude, you can sing too! Perhaps not as high as Gunhild, but you sure can. Kudos.
I'm so happy for them!! ❤ finally we can sing norwegian !🎉
Well, it's too dark, wild, animalistic even, makes me anxious, but i still love it.😅 My 12 point apparently go to Norway this year. Love from Ukraine❤

oh yes POland 12 points

They must win televoting I guess
