The good old Rudge got away with no problems, the American bikes needed no end of help; sounded all very sick & by the time they got running the Rudge had done one lap 😂
@Outlawflyer78: The propeller car in the video footage is called a "Leyat Helica". It was Frenchman Marcel Leyat back in the days who the idea of a wingless airplane for the road - early in the 20st century, all sorts of different technologies were being thrown at the wall to see which would stick and which would slide. Leyat was never able to get funding for a large-scale production and he produced around 30 units in total. in 1927, a Helica reached a respectable speed of 106 mph (171 km/h) at the Montlhéry circuit in the outskirts of Paris where this video footage was also recorded. :-)
I've just read two stupid comments. They just cruising and not a board track. Amazing how people don't know the value of these things. No excuse for ignorance.
... but then also consider, that these bikes were minimalistic in design, with no brakes, gears, or even clutches in some cases. Riders controlled speed primarily by adjusting the throttle or, in some instances, by cutting off the ignition... 🤪
Love the propeller cars , they're all very cool though

Yes indeed, the Rudge had a very elegant and smooth start, compared to some of her American counterparts! 😊

An engine and wheels - whadda hell else do ya need?
Yep, that's it pretty much... and no brakes, which I find staggering !
@@hu3raum da ya want to race or do you want to brake ;-)
He who brakes, loses.
I don´t see much racing. Just people standing around the old bikes, then they start the old bikes then they slowly ride off on the old bikes.
I wanted the bikes up to speed like it was .

Pas de frein sur ces chignoles?
It’s a shame they didnt have paint back then. 🤓.
Ces grand-mères sont inusables, bravo à ceux qui les font... péter !
Tout à fait d'accord !
stop drinking save the money and buy that
... that's quite a statement - I like it! 😄
Not racing just cruising around the track. Boring
And not a "board track" either. Clickbait.
