Great video. We are glad you were not hurt any more than you were. My wife and I enjoy looking at all the scenery on your rides. She has been to western Canada four times working at youth camps. If you ever lose your senses and decide to come to Florida to ride, let us know. We can't ride with you but my wife can feed you well and I'll be glad to wash a load of laundry if you need it. Oh, and our Boston Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier would love to spend time with you while you rest up. Happy and safe travels! Drink a cup of Tim Horton's for us!!
That scenery is spectacular, gets even better as you go into Alberta. I'm glad you didn't injure yourself on that fall (sounds like a bruise or something less). Be careful, especially when you're holding your camera.
The scenery absolutely got better. The mountains were spectacular. I wasn't holding the camera when I fell, I just couldn't ride across the cattleguards.
Hi Agnieszka. Finally catching up on your amazing videos. Sorry to hear of your fall! Glad it wasn't more serious and as always, your spirit is indomitable! We've all been there.I thought I was fineo n a bed of super loose gravel on the Hastings heritage trail near Marmora butw as clipped in and wiped out. Hindsight is 20/20 vision and experience is sometimes a tough teacher! Thanks for sharing all the spectrum, including those greatviews! Thanks too for the cool tips. I love the sun hat idea because I don't always want sunscreen! Avocados are a great work around because you really need dense fuel that burns slowly for these very long rides! Thanks for sharing! (Love the headwind is a tailwind that is confused! I will have that one in my head forever! ) Ride Well, Be Well!
Thank you for watching! Yes, hindsight is always 20/20 and experience really is a tough teacher - no shortcuts there! I'm glad you found something interesting to take away. I also like the "confused headwind" idea, it neutralizes the impact somehow.
Another good video. You like ferries ... there's a small one across the Ottawa River between Ontario and Quebec to the east of Ottawa, that connects Clarence with Thurso, near the Parc National de Plaisance. Beautiful scenery here, looking forward for more. And as always, if you're still on your trip, good luck/happy riding.
@@WheelsonaBike BTW, that cattle crossing is really dangerous.. when you showed up close, I couldn't believe how big the gaps were. Huge.... Glad your 👌 ok. 👍👍👍
Greetings fellow traveller! I live in North Kamloops and often ride to the ferry and back along Westsyde road. Yes it’s very popular and I never tire of the views. I ride a recumbent trike and have mastered the art to travelling over cattle grates (slowly) as long as they have at least one bar. It does get tricky. Last year I rode to Edmonton on my trike from Kamloops. 7 days of hot and glorious weather and I made peace with all the hill climbs, I loved every minute of it.😊😊😊 I hope you had the same. I’d love to go across Canada. Good on you! Hope you had a safe trip.
I remember having that moment when I thought I could go across the cattle guard. Didn't make it, but managed to stop before falling. Glad you didn't get seriously hurt. I like your idea of "making friends" with the headwind. However, it wouldn't work for me as I'd interpret it as turning around 😆. Another great video. You're alone sometimes, but never for long 😉.
That cattle guard looks like the spacings are a lot greater than those in the U.S. I personally have never had a problem crossing them but I am usually on my hybrid bike with mountain bike handle bars and no front panniers. I prefer the flat handle bars for off road as I think they give you more control on rough surfaces. Our Tandem on the other hand has dropouts and I definitely don't feel as much in control on rough surfaces ie. railroad tracks and cattle guards.
@@WheelsonaBike North Thompson River Provincial Park. Yes it is an overnight campground. I have used it twice on bike tours. You can even use it, if it is closed when you are on a bike tour. Beautiful location but down a hill. On the right hand side of Highway #5, just south of Clearwater.
Welcome back Agnieszka. As it is now September I’m just wondering if you made it across this year. If not. Will you come back next year and continue on? Or are you just a long way back with editing lol😁 You are doing great.✌️
Thank you! I'm still on the road. Just arrived in PEI. I will finish the trip this year, but had to adjust to arriving in Halifax instead of St. John's NL.
@@WheelsonaBike fantastic. So glad all is working out. I will be watching as episodes come out and wish you fair winds and good luck. If you need anything around Moncton let me know. @@WheelsonaBike as I’ve commented before Agnieszka, I think you are a very special and brave lady. I will continue to watch your content and hope you are successful with all your adventures.😁
So at minute mark 4:14 it shows your insta 360 one R. mounted to a pole that is attached to your Ram mount. Is this an extendable selfie stick with a ram mount ball attached. Might you have a link to your setup?
Hi Michael. I believe I already sent you an email with the link to my setup. I think you were the one who emailed me? If not, there are a few Michael Greens out there.
Yes , you did. I am sorry if this is redundant but the link you sent me was a selfie stick with no ball on the end to attach to the ram mount. Is there something I am missing here? It’s okay I sometimes can’t see the forest for the trees.. thanks for replying to me.
Right, what a lesson. I now consider cattleguards in the same category as streetcar tracks. The shoulder took a few days to heal up and it was like new again.
@@WheelsonaBike another thing to watch for is truck adjustment grates, tour people find them a lot,, look innocent but they will grab and hold front wheel
I blew out.my back hub and spoke, due to to many miles, wheels just gave up to the miles, whole bike needs tune up, because of financial problems I might not be texting back for a bit,
very good bicycle adventure tour programme i like

It's hard not to be enthusiastic on this beautiful trip. It's tough, beautiful ride.

Luckily you're a super-athlete and bounced off that road with no serious damage! :)

There are a lot of these little ferries in Canada.
thankfully you recovered, sep shoulder even minor can be extremely painful. Really great editing.
The shoulder healed up very nicely. It took a few days.
Super inspiring! I wish to do this one day :)

@@WheelsonaBike Let me if you would like to promote your channel on my podcast :)

@@WheelsonaBike yes mostly music. But I’ve had all sorts of people on the show as well.
I see, thanks for the added clarification. At this point I won't be able to do anything, but maybe after the tour is done?

I met a few cyclists on trikes. They seem fun to ride and a lot more stable than bikes. Would love to add one to my collection.
I am not a big fan of cattle grates. At least you were ok. Love the video!
I don't mind them, but will not ride across them again. Lesson learned!

I've never fallen when using a camera. While it can happen, it never has.
