If you found a roach, always call your landlord. Roaches mean somewhere in the building, someone is not keeping their place clean and if you see them, that’s not good.
I love watching these videos!! Inspiring me to finish cleaning my place so my kitty and I can head home!
I didn't know if it was a huge cause for concern bc they're so common in these old buildings in NYC but if I see another I will be contacting someone 😂😂
@@HannahElise Honestly roaches = mess is more a myth than fact. You and your entire building can be doing everything correct, but roaches could come in from another building (especially with brick walls) and outside. Your landlord should be providing some sort of extermination because they have an understood responsibility to provide a hospitable place to live which means no bugs... but there's steps you can do as well. You can put down glue traps under furniture like a fridge or where the cats won't get to them to track where bugs are coming in or moving about the apartment. You can also you roach bait gel in places where they can lay eggs like kitchen cabinets. You can also put down some roach tablets - again where the cats can't get to them! But know, like you said, seeing 1 or 2 isn't uncommon. Just do your best to make your place unliveable for them and keep as much of your food in heavy plastic or glass containers.

I’ve learned that to stay clean, everything should have a place. That way it always goes to the same place, thus you stay tidy. It’s a nice theory that’s not always easy to stick to. Great video!

I have that exact same litterbox. I used to have it set up like you do, but my cat would SPRINT out of it and track litter through the whole apartment. So I turned it so the opening faced the wall so he had to step out of it and immediately turn. It helped SO much!
I brought my cat with me when I first moved out of the house too. I was getting lonely and borderline depressed and then the next time I went home I brought her back with me and it made a HUGE difference for me as well. I was used to having a cat and knew what I was getting myself into and how to make sure she had what she needed for various aspects of play and feeling safe, etc... I think a pet can 100% be a huge benefit but yes, make sure you are ready for that responsibility and that the cat us benefiting just as much as you are 😻
I've had cats for 13 years so I def knew I wanted one to live w me here! I'm so grateful for Charley she is the light of my life
