Dave, you’re absolutely right about setup tools. For Ibanez, they actually used to give you a giant multi-tool when you bought any “Premium Line” guitar and it worked great for not only Ibanez but A LOT of imported guitars like Squiers and anything built by Cort. However, there’s A LOT of “all-in-one” sets you see that are exactly as you’d mentioned: some amalgamated and cross-pollinated set of junk you may not use. But it’s actually cheap. Honestly, what worked great for me was a set of Allen keys and some screwdrivers. There’s other stuff you’ll need but you buy that as you go and as you actually need it but mostly Allen keys and screwdrivers are what will help you do 75% of the work on a guitar. A string height gauge too will be worth its weight in gold. Just make sure it’s actually stainless steel though so it doesn’t stick to your pickups.
Hopefully when you and Solo come out with the kits, you don’t get too many complaints about the price. Hopefully people understand that quality tools cost money up front, but you’ll only need to purchase them once and not over and over when cheap tools break. There’s a difference between cheap and frugal.
As I type I'm swapping the pickups in a p bass, thanks for all your educational videos I've watched enough of them I feel comfortable doing this little job.
Thanks to you Dave I already have my complete set up tool kit. I got some flat stock at the home center to make fretboard rulers, which were transformational in getting the truss adjustments done properly. The other thing I didn't have were feeler gauges, so with them I can now get my guitars dialed in perfectly. I suppose I should also thank the algorithm for sending you my way! 👍✌
I liked what you were sayin there with brand-tailored setup kits! Looking at Solo's kits they seemed either overkill or something where I might need one extra tool because it might not be in there
The outcome was never in doubt. I knew Dave was going to bring it back to life. It's what he does.
What exactrly has been shaved off this neck?
@@EbonyPope From the way Dave describes it, this P-Bass neck was reshaped to be more like a J-Bass neck.
AND
I LOVE the second ending!
Haha Dave’s Gooch-o-matic guitar tool kit.
Thanks from frustration central! 🙂🎻✌️😎
Great job, Dave. I find the heat press fascinating. I missed this video somehow. Glad the sale went well.

Great video.
As always a fantastic job Dave. I’ve learned a lot from your videos over the years. Cheers! 🤘🏻

No there isn't.
awesome job Dave!
Awesome job as always Mr. Dave. My 1972 P bass has been my favorite for over 30 years 👍
well that heat press seems to be invaluable otherwise this neck would be in the trash great job dave
Glad it worked out! Sounds great in the end. 4 different t-shirts in one video, new record? Take care.
Thanks!
You bet!
HOOOORRRRAAAAAH!
Yet another one de-gooched!
What exactrly has been shaved off this neck?

@@DavesWorldofFunStuff Ah thank you. Yes I see. Thanks for the explanation. Great video as always.

Adding a Jazz taper to a Precision neck seems like a difficult task to do correctly.
It isn't.
Hate is a very powerful word, Dave, do you hate Rickenbackers?…😂
Lmao, what WAS that noise, Dave?
The Dip isn't at the first fret, the Dip is holding the neck............ Smart arse comment of the day, made!
gfo
Three makes it a Roasted neck?
@4:11 I hear that noise all the time and is scares the ish outta me!
Was that you playing bass in the video’s opening? Nice, unique 🎸
Yes! Thank you!
There used to be a "hate" button....but lefties had it taken away from us. You know......everyone gets a trophy!
PEE BASS
I don't get it.
Aye
TOAN IS STORED IN THE BALLS
I'm rightfully offended that you diminished brand's adhesive film's essence to "tape".
None of your videos come up for me anymore. RUclips playing silly bollocks again.
No one cares.
