Ya! I remember that kiosk.... even from Canada we had them everywhere. I didn’t need to see that display to buy the console. One TV commercial was all it took. Really awesome !!!
I distinctly remember standing in front of one of these, in awe, as an eight year old (at the The Bay in Winnipeg, Manitoba). It captured my imagination!
Now that is insane!!! I never saw that in the stores. I remember seeing A row of Intellivisions with wall mounted TV's at Gimbles in Milwaukee during Christmas 1980. We got an Intellivision that year and we played the hell out of it. So exciting!
ahhh brings back memories! I remember those displays! I have an original Intellivison with many games, great fun. My old sckool favorites are Atari VCS, Colecovision and Intellivision :)
Oh, man, this is delightful. My sister hid the Atari 2600 from my mother a few years ago before she could throw it out (my generation's baseball cards: the video game consoles that didn't fit in the car when you moved out (and also technically belonged to your dad)), but I don't think she would have thought to rescue the Intellivision. I loved the plastic inserts that let you customize the controllers for each game, even if the controllers themselves looked like a person from 1970s trying to envision a modern cell phone.
Yoosta go to Sears and play these all the time. But for some reason ended up buying an Intellivision from Kmart or Target in stead of a Sears Tele-Games one.
I had no idea how to use the Intellivision controller in the Kmart as a kid. I would spin the disk around in a circle. I had to wait until the older kids were done playing and left.
Great video with good information, thanks for sharing this. But why? did you need to say (4:20) "a corny family from the 70's" A family from the 70's would have been just fine. Maybe? you really meant, "a corny white family from the 70's" I bet, If it had been a black family, you probably wouldn't have added the word, corny. My point is... why do we always feel the need to stereotype things? Anyway what makes them corny? is it that they are playing the Intellivision together as a family? or is it the way they are dressed? Idk?
I remember one of these in the neighborhood K-mart, very cool - thanks for preserving history and sharing
Always loved the Kiosks from when i grew up in the 90's. Really cool to see what kiosks were like before then in the early years.

GREAT TIMES!!! Back in a simpler childhood.

"The Keyboard Component will be out in the Spring."
Wow. That was way past cool. I would love to know how you obtained the demo cartridge. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
totally awesome! cant believe the guy even delivered it!
Cool!
Awesome! 🤩
Love it except for the joystick added on I find it easier to play with the disc.

Perfect!
I have the kiosk Plexer but nothing else. One day I hope to have a kiosk.
Pretty cool. I want one for my house now 😂
It wouldn't have been 1978, that's probably more like 1982. TRON debuted in '81, Burgertime '82 - that much I remember.

Billy didn't play Intellivision, he forged his high score on Donkey Kong.
