After that the gameplay and plot just became too convoluted for its own good. As for gameplay: Eh? It’s better than BBS and 3D, but WAY worse than 2FM and too floaty and reliant on flashiness to be at least on par with 1. I personally still enjoyed the game (WAY better when I played it again on Crit Mode), but after this, I seriously hope that they basically just forget all of the Xehanort business and make 4(?) a soft reboot.

5 years later it's interesting to see how all of these games panned out in the long run. A lot of beloved indie titles that hadn't even released yet, literal masterpiece works were only just getting announced, and Dunkey thought Mario 3d land was weak compared to the other Mario games. It's so fun to watch Dunkey critique games. The passion and knowledge is so intense, plus, the humor is well inserted and very funny. Don't stop reviewing games man, you're THE gamer.
I find that he often exaggerates the bad sides of a game for comedic effect. If a game is good, he'll say so, but if it's bad he'll bury it into the ground with no redeeming qualities.
Tbh, I kind of avoided him just because the name rubbed me the wrong way. Dunkey? It's like he was trying to type donkey, which is already an embarrassing word and idea, and lost his way to the O key. Or a cross between dump and donkey. My loss, this is the first thing I've watched by him and I'm totally into it.
You're right kat; he was especially acting in his old league videos, but it's in his video game critique videos where we see his real passion for gaming. And MyNameIsGuzse, what are examples of games that dunkey extremely downplayed but actually had good elements? (welcome to the club btw Jonathan)

His brother luigi's hat is an ally entity hat, and Wario is the evil hat, and they just chose these poor working class plumbers to inhabit and go to war with. Thats why Bowser keeps stealing Peach, cause he is a super hyprid pokemon turtle, the wisest of all animals, and knows the dangers of the hats and the war they will fight, so he tries to remove peach from the environment where she could end up hurt. But the Hats are establish symbiotic relationships, and Mario, has his celebrity crush on princess peach, and like the spider man symbiotic, it makes him greedy, and so he always goes and gets her...... fuck, I cant keep that up anymore... But seriusly, I thought DUnkey liking Knack was sarcasm this whole time. I'm still unsure.
