I ordered this attachment a couple days ago and I am super excited to have it. I love the tip to strain the juice one day and store it in half gallon jars until ready for canning. I’ve got about 50 pounds of tomatoes from my garden in the freezer so far this year and more coming! Also I appreciate the tip on making tomato powder from the skins and how to use it. I have some in my deep food storage but i love the idea of using my own! Thank you.

You will LOVE it!! 💜🤗 It's Amazing to make Apple Sauce and Apple Butters as well as many more Fruits and veggies!
Tomato powder is such a Blessing to have! You can make Juice, Paste, Sauce , Soups and use it for flavoring and as a thickener as well.

@@DianeTheCanningNana Thanks Diane! I started canning last year, so I'm still learning. My parents canned, but I only started last year when I planted a much larger than usual garden. I'm finishing up the pickles I want to put away for the winter now and I'm making some frozen fruit that has been hangin around for a while into jams and syrups. This frees up space in my freezer and gets yummy stuff on the shelf to enjoy in the winter. And give me room to stash tomatoes until I'm ready to start canning them.

The Kitchen Aide attachment is pretty neat, the strained tomatoes went so quickly. I have a hand crank one, which works well for the little amounts that I get from my garden. Would love to get my hands on 90+ pounds of maters to can. That's real gift to have that opportunity.

I have never used a machine to strain my tomatoes but I just did order a Norpro Sauce Maker which is very similar to your kitchen aid machine. It is a manual machine but will be much easier to make strained tomatoes for my sauce next year. Every year I get a little smarter in how to do things. 😂😂😂😂

Good morning Diane, You have convince me to purchase the attachments for my kitchen Aid. I wanted to let you know that I used to have lower back problems ( mines was caused by pulling and lifting patients) I start a regiment of strengthening my core, and the purchase of the gel pro kitchen mats. It made a big difference in my ability to be able to work all day in the kitchen. Sometimes I would have 12 hour sessions of seriously canning up a lot of product.

I save more than half of the skins for dehydrating into powder. We get about 300 lbs of Romas on average. The whole tomatoes I put through the strainer are Strained until there is no liquid left then I throw that away.

    Are there two separate attachments?

Simmer down the sauce?? This is how you cook sauce to make a thick, hearty, authentic Italian Sauce. I cook mine for about 6-8 hours usually. I have several different ways where I show how to make Marinara Sauce, this one is from Fresh Strained Romas. You do Not need to Strain your tomatoes. You can use whole Romas and cook them down as well. Please see my other Tutorials. 💜
