This Kitchen Aide Tomato and skin processing attachment is so amazing’! It really streamlined the process! 💕
🗝🤗
I ordered this attachment a couple days ago and I am super excited to have it. I love the tip to strain the juice one day and store it in half gallon jars until ready for canning. I’ve got about 50 pounds of tomatoes from my garden in the freezer so far this year and more coming! Also I appreciate the tip on making tomato powder from the skins and how to use it. I have some in my deep food storage but i love the idea of using my own! Thank you.
You will LOVE it!! 💜🤗 It's Amazing to make Apple Sauce and Apple Butters as well as many more Fruits and veggies!
Tomato powder is such a Blessing to have! You can make Juice, Paste, Sauce , Soups and use it for flavoring and as a thickener as well.
@@DianeTheCanningNana Thanks Diane! I started canning last year, so I'm still learning. My parents canned, but I only started last year when I planted a much larger than usual garden. I'm finishing up the pickles I want to put away for the winter now and I'm making some frozen fruit that has been hangin around for a while into jams and syrups. This frees up space in my freezer and gets yummy stuff on the shelf to enjoy in the winter. And give me room to stash tomatoes until I'm ready to start canning them.
I love dehydrating my tomato skins for tomato powder
Love my kitchen aide. Straining tomatoes and making sauce is perfect for the end of Summer.
The Kitchen Aide attachment is pretty neat, the strained tomatoes went so quickly. I have a hand crank one, which works well for the little amounts that I get from my garden. Would love to get my hands on 90+ pounds of maters to can. That's real gift to have that opportunity.

That attachment is wonderful , great looking strained tomatoes , thanks for sharing , God bless !
I have never used a machine to strain my tomatoes but I just did order a Norpro Sauce Maker which is very similar to your kitchen aid machine. It is a manual machine but will be much easier to make strained tomatoes for my sauce next year. Every year I get a little smarter in how to do things. 😂😂😂😂
I have that attachment as well...it really helps! It's good for tomatoes and also apples.
🤗💜
Good morning Diane, You have convince me to purchase the attachments for my kitchen Aid. I wanted to let you know that I used to have lower back problems ( mines was caused by pulling and lifting patients) I start a regiment of strengthening my core, and the purchase of the gel pro kitchen mats. It made a big difference in my ability to be able to work all day in the kitchen. Sometimes I would have 12 hour sessions of seriously canning up a lot of product.
🗝🤗💜 Enjoy your attachment! I Love ours! ❤️
I also hurt my back lifting a person I was caring for. Strengthening the muscles after not being able to use them for a few years has been very difficult.
we use ours the same way is awesome... need to turn your speed up it will work better. thanks for posting
Too fast and it tends to drip and fly pieces of tomatoes. This is on 9! . I never put it on the highest
Strainer discussion begins at the 7:09 mark.
Have a huge batch of tomato sauce simmering down right now. First time with a Kitchenaid mixer rather than hand peeling.
strained tomatoes and kitchen aid mixer is great combo
🗝🤗💜
I always put roasted or cooked tomatoes through mine. Both raw, cooked, etc.
I've never had a Kitchen aid gadget for STRAINED TOMATOES but had a hand crank one I loaned out and never got back!

🗝🤗💜
I have a hand crank to make strained tomatoes. My husband broke my kitchen aid making sourdough bread.☹️ He is going to fix it though.
That is awesome. Strained tomatoes made easy. What a time saver. Thanks for sharing.
🗝💜🤗
Wow! Neat attachment for using with strained tomatoes.
🗝💜🤗 amzn.to/3L2eawx
Can you freeze the tomatoes to process later? Also what did you do with the leftover seeds and skins? Can you turn those skins into powder as well?
I save more than half of the skins for dehydrating into powder. We get about 300 lbs of Romas on average. The whole tomatoes I put through the strainer are Strained until there is no liquid left then I throw that away.
Yes! You can absolutely freeze your tomatoes!
Love the color of the strained tomatoes.
🗝💜🤗
I love my kitchen aide mixer. I need to get this attachment to do strained tomatoes.

The strained tomatoes look so good
I just ordered one and can't wait to use it. Can you dehydrate the pulp?
@@GinnyAline I dehydrate the skins into Powder! You can do the same with the pulp!
That's amazing. I am gonna have to check into this attachment. Just wondered what you do with all the pulp that is left over? Do you dehydrate that as well? WOTD= strained tomato
🗝🤗 I keep straining the tomato pulp until there is very little to no liquid in them, then
I throw it out. It is mainly seeds after that.
Strainer tomatoes look good and easy with the attachment. I'm probably going to stick with my normal sauce though. Too much extra standing for this back of mine.
🗝💜🤗 Right there with you! My back can't handle the standing either! The Kitchenaid attachment helps cut time more than half! No blanching, just half and put in hopper. The machine does ALL the work!
I have never strained tomatoes I've always used a merger blender on them or just can them whole or in pieces that gives me something to think about
strained tomatoes. i used mine to make apple sauce. i steamed my apples first for the juice and then had apple sauce for apple butter
🗝🤗💜
I’m a little confused. I keep reading that you have to have a grinder attachment for this to work, but in the video I don’t see a grinder attachment.
I clicked the link you provided and see the attachment and in the details it says “ Specially designed to work with the KitchenAid Food Grinder”
Are there two separate attachments?
Hello! No, My link shows exactly what you need. This attaches to the Kitchenaid as I show. . This works with Tomatoes, Apples and other fruits and veggies as well. Very handy attachment!
Got a video of the process after this?

Of Course! I have over 1000 videos. Just search my Canning or Recipe Playlists
Strained tomatoes in a kitchen aid is a bonus!
🤗💜🗝amzn.to/3DOW5z3
The strained tomatoes look so pretty. I’ve made juice/sauce with the manual tool(can’t remember the name. Lol)
amzn.to/3DOW5z3
Unfortunately, I don’t have the Kitchenaid attachment to strain tomatoes.
I would really like to see a video using your kitchen aid for apple sauce. I finally have apples on my tree.
Already have a video up, ruclips.net/video/IPj_PL8TPo0/видео.html
I need to get that strainer for straining fruits and veggies.

I’ve never used a strainer before , making strained tomatoes would be perfect
amzn.to/3DOW5z3
I’m getting this attachment this week thank you 😊
What is the name of this attachment, and Where do you order it from?

New canner here! Can someone give me instructions on how to use this attachment with my frozen tomatoes?! I know I need to let them thaw. Then do what? lol they were cored prior to freezing. Do I quarter then run through this attachment? Do I have to cook down after? Trying to make plain tomato sauce. Ty for any help!! ❤
Yes , let thaw and run through attachment. No need to quarter unless they are to large to fit in the hopper and not get stuck. Cook down until you get the thickness you like. I have videos doing exactly this . I'll be making sauce using my own frozen Romas soon aa we'll. 💜🤗
@@DianeTheCanningNana ty soooo much!!! 💗💗💗
Of Course! That is why I'm here, to help teach! 💜🤗
is it my eyes or am I seeing a lot of seeds in your sauce? did you use a strainer that doesn't take the seeds out??
The strainer Removes the skin and seeds.
I have one but cannot figure out how to put the darn thing together.
I show how in this video
I figured it out!! Worked GREAT
Why do the tomatoes need to be raw?
This seperates seeds and skins so you want to use raw tomatoes, not cooked.
Straining tomatoes! I have the attachment, but it's still in the box! Going to use it from now ob. You mentioned alples. Did you core them? What was your process?
Yes, I core my apples first. 🗝🤗
I f forgot to mention word of the day. Strained tomatoe.
🗝💜🤗
Feel ya
Makes it SO Easy!! 🤗💜
Do you dehydrated the solids from the strained tomatoes?
🗝🤗 That comes out of the strainer? No I don't, too many seeds. That's one of the reasons I do half of the tomatoes by quickly blanching , so I have the full skins for dehydrating into powder. Video up later today!
Strained tomatoes is a term I have never heard.
🗝🤗💜 It's seperating all of the seeds and skins so that you only have the pulp and juice to make sauce.
Strained
🗝🤗
6:15 Why did you do these this way?
Simmer down the sauce?? This is how you cook sauce to make a thick, hearty, authentic Italian Sauce. I cook mine for about 6-8 hours usually. I have several different ways where I show how to make Marinara Sauce, this one is from Fresh Strained Romas. You do Not need to Strain your tomatoes. You can use whole Romas and cook them down as well. Please see my other Tutorials. 💜
@DianeTheCanningNana You're doing a video on how excellent the attachment is, then you go to the stove and talk about all the tomatoes you didn't use the attachment for.
No, The video is about making Easy Tomato sauce using the Tomato Straining attachment only
