I like how Yami unnecessarily took Jigan Bakudan/Relinquished with brain control just hoping the facedown card little yugi played would work out for him. Like he could have just not taken Bakudan with brain control and let it destroy relinquished and be in a winning position. But instead of just letting Bakudan explode on pegasus’ side he decided, “I’m going to brain control the card that would lose me the duel this turn and just hope the facedown card yugi played could do something about it.”
Crazy thing is even then it still wasn't enough. Thousand Eyes Restrict paralyzed Magician of Black Chaos and it had to be saved by Kuribohs "special" effect to detonate on contact combined with Multiply to win. If it wasnt for that and played by the rules, Atem would have lost.
Just imagine that chaos magician as it's own character in another show of its own imagine the chaos it could cause if it was freely moving around not trapped in the tiny little card
So no one judge me when I say this but when I was a kid watching this I got chills watching this episode because to it was such amazing duel episode and feeling seeing a a new magician monster and I felt the same way with the duel against Mai when Yugi summoned the Black Luster Soldier but this episode brings back so much is Soldier and just a moment when I was so happy when I was younger.....welp....those were the days😂😭😂😭

I think it was similar to fusions. Like there's not a card in the deck, but the material/offerings need to be on the field for it to work.

I remember reading the manga and in the chapter where they introduce duel monsters they explain the basics rules and on the next page break them.
In the original release of Magician of Black Chaos, the forgot to release it's ritual card of you had no way to summon it.
